" Good morning Namjoon" I waved to the hybrid who peered over his newspaper, eyebrows furrowed but sporting a large grin as he nodded back at me. Jungkook was the one who peeped around the kitchen doorway announcing breakfast was ready. I thanked him, pulling Namjoon to his feet and leading him to the kitchen. His hand was wrapped securely around mine, the warmth a nice contrast to my own.
The boys all crowded around the variety of fruit, cooked meat, and yogurt scattered around the table, only Hoseok being the one to notice my presence as I smiled in his direction. Though his eyes were tired, the large toothy smile was reassuringly positive.
" Good morning, boys!" At my announcement, all their heads seem to turn towards me, bright smiles on their faces as they waved, or greeted me back through a mouthful of food. I chuckled silently, feeling Namjoon's hand grasp mine before finally disappearing, leaving my hand levitating longingly. I frowned, watching as his figure moved towards a slightly annoyed-looking Jin, who pulled the chair out for him. I coughed slightly, taking the empty seat next to Taehyung and across from Yoongi.
" Do you want some tangerines?" Jungkook had leaned over a pouting Jimin, a bright orange fruit aimed right at me. I shook my head, releasing a chuckle as Jimin pushed the younger boy away from him, mumbling under his breath. The younger hybrid just stuck his tongue out, causing Namjoon to scold him for his behavior.
I sat timidly, as the talking erupted into a loud conversation leaving only me and Yoongi to share a glance of subtle confusion. Something seemed different this morning, I wasn't sure what but it made me shift uncomfortably in my seat. I wasn't used to being so confused for so long, so unsure of what seemed to be a normal situation.
" Are you okay?" Yoongi's ears flickered as he scanned me, waiting for a response. I frowned, was it that obvious? Could he smell something was wrong, If so why couldn't the others? Why was I overthinking this? Of course, I was, it was just a normal day in the Min family house. I nodded, mouth to dry to respond for a moment before Jimin passed a glass of water in my direction.
I mouth a solemn 'thank you', his eyes closing into a thin line as he smiled, turning back to his conversation with Taehyung. Now that I thought about it, it really was a normal day with six chaotic hybrids that I loved dearly. Taking a sip of my water I glanced at my phone, Jackson had messaged me, I smiled already knowing what he was saying before responding with a small thank you.
" Do you boys want to go shopping?" I asked, placing my phone in my pocket and taking another sip of water. I analyzed their reactions the three youngest peering at me in confusion, Yoongi in silent disgust, and the other three frowning in what seemed to be a misunderstanding.
" We already have food in the fridge, why do we need to go shopping?" Hoseok asked eyebrow raised as he sipped his own juice. I coughed slightly, patting my chest as I swallowed the rest of my water, whilst the boys murmured in agreement.
" I meant clothes shopping, you know, to buy clothes and necessities that you guys might want. You've all been Yoongi's and my fathers' clothing for a while now, I feel like it would be more comfortable if you had your own stuff, especially now you're staying for a while." My hands splayed about, almost comically, a habit I only had when I was nervous, and that only seemed to increase tenfold as the six shared a look between each other. It was quite obvious they were communicating, the way their faces morphed, quite humorously at that, as they directed their attention between them.
" We don't have any money to go shopping." SeokJin had spoken up, folding his hands on the tabletop. I frowned, my jaw unhooking slightly. Did he think I was going to make them pay for their things, is that what they think I would do?
" It would be my treat, you guys don't even owe a penny." I tried to reassure the elder boy, once again throwing my hands in the air frantically. They once again fell silent, making me slightly more anxious at my small gesture of celebration. " You don't have to if you don't want to, it was just a suggestion."
" No, we'd love to." Hoseok interrupted, earning a sound from Namjoon who turned to look at him. The former scratched the back of his head sheepishly, his teeth formulating into a grin. " It's just most of us haven't really been able to go shopping before you know and we wouldn't want to inconvenience you."
" None of you are an inconvenience, I'd love to be able to look after you properly. If I couldn't afford to do it, I wouldn't have offered." I licked my lips, looking at Yoongi as he stared at me, an unrecognizable glance on his face. " Urm, we can go after breakfast if you want. I need to get a few things myself."
"I'm done, can we go now!" Jungkook questioned, placing his fork on the plate where the greasy residue of bacon once lay. I nodded, chuckling slightly as Jimin and Taehyung followed suit, placing their cutlery on the table and standing up from their seat.
The four elders sighed, nodding in Jungkook's direction before the three ran out of the kitchen into the hall, no doubt putting on their shoes. Namjoon, Hoseok and SeokJin followed suit, but not without a long gulp of water and walking out.
"You alright Yoongi?" I questioned, watching his gaze as they all disappeared around the corner. There was a distant look in his eye, something only present when he was deep in thought, but he answered me quickly with a nod. " You can stay home if you want, I know the mall isn't your favourite place in the world."
His head snapped to me, face dark and contorted into an expression I couldn't fathom. A scoff left the deep fathom of his chest, eyelids blinking as I had just offended him with my suggestion. In a moment he rose, hands colliding with the table, determination hitting his features as he rounded the table to clasp my hand.
" Are you kidding me, I'm driving."
