When we got to Hogwarts I was exhausted. I had no idea why. All I had done was sit on the train, talk to Albus and daydream (about Albus). But whatever it was, I was tired and didn't even want to go to the feast. "You ok?" Albus whispered, picking up on my sudden silence. "Yeah, just a bit tired" I responded. We went to the the carriages and to my surprise they were being pulled by something... it was big and black, the muscles underneath it's skin popping out. "What are they...." Albus said, clearly expecting me to know the answer. He was right, I did. "Thestrals, idiot" I replied, rolling my eyes. "But I thought they were invisible?" I rolled my eyes again. For someone so hot, he was so stupid. "They are to some," I started "You can only see them if you've witnessed death..." my voiced tailed off at the end, not wanting yet another reminder of last year. "Albus!" I heard someone shout. It was Rose from the carriage we were looking at. "Stop staring at my carriage like a creep and get in!" I looked around, we were the only ones left on the platform. Albus shook his head and got in, me trailing behind.
The carriage was only the three of us and was a bit awkward. "Manage to get the paint off your trunk yet?" Rose asked, surprisingly talking to me. I blushed, even if she wasn't my first choice, she was still beautiful. "No" I muttered, looking at Albus for help. "We should report it" He said. "I completely forgot about your trunk to be honest." And it was back in his head. "Don't worry about it, I'll get dad to send me some removal. It's not coming off magically so it's the best option" I said, finding my words again. Albus looked unconvinced but decided to let it slide. For now.
"How was your holiday Rose?" I asked, trying to get conversation going. She sighed. I knew she was regretting her decision to let us sit with her. "It was ok I guess" she responded. I got distracted by something in the corner of my eye. It was Albus. He wasn't doing anything. Just sitting but he was really distracting me. "So...." Rose said, looking at me. I gave her a quizzical look. She rolled her eyes. When someone rolled their eyes, I always wanted to kiss them. It looked hot in a way nothing else could. Lucky for me, Albus loved this particular habit. Rose repeated her question. "Do you think your ready for the OWL's this year?" A familiar panic rose in my chest, like it did whenever I thought of the tests. "I don't know... we missed a lot of school last year" I said uncertainly. "Scorpius, you did everything in your power to catch up." Albus pointed out. "But still..." I said more worried then ever. "If you think your going to do badly then we're all screwed" He muttered, looking scared himself. "Apart from Rose" I added, glancing hopefully at her. "Well that makes me feel a lot better" Albus muttered sarcastically. Just then the carriage stopped. We got out, we were back at Hogwarts.
I know both Dad and Albus don't like it but I love it. Against the night sky, it looked like something straight from "tales of beedle the bard". I looked up and smiled. While things were a lot better with Dad, Hogwarts is still my real home and would be forever.
