Author Note

This is quite a long conversation so I'm going to write it like a script to save time

Eg:

A: Hi

B: Hi

This is all written in third person!

Albus: Look, I know we haven't really been friends these last few weeks but I've still been thinking about you nonstop.

Scorpius was really listening now, generally interested in what Albus had to say. He hated to admit it but Scorpius couldn't stop thinking about Albus too.

Albus: I shouldn't of ignored you the day after but I was just embarrassed. 

Albus knew this wasn't how he wanted to start but to his relief, Scorpius was still listening.

Albus: and I know that's not an excuse but I'm really sorry

Scorpius suddenly felt red hot anger rush through his blood.

Scorpius: Well that didn't look very apologetic did it?

Albus: I know, I know but-

Scorpius: if you knew then why did you do it? Because to me it looks like you don't give a shit.

Albus: Scorpius, what happened between us I really don't regret and-

Scorpius: So now your glad you took that stupid dare?

Albus was suddenly confused. Dare? He took a deep breath.

Albus: I don't know who you've been talking to but my guess it your just as drunk and clueless as you were then!

Scorpius paused. He was drunk that night but he certainly knew what he was doing.

Scorpius: So that's what you think? I was too drunk to understand? Or is that what you hoped?

Albus was feeling upset. This was not going according to plan. He decided to try a new tactic. He started again more softly.

Albus: Scorpius, I know your mad and that's fine! I've been acting like a dick and there's no denying it. I just wanted to tell you that I really, really don't regret it and I hope you forgive me.

Scorpius was taken aback by this sudden change of tone, but he wasn't quite ready to change with it.

Scorpius: you've said that once already Potter, or am I just to clueless to understand that too?

Albus knew he shouldn't rise to the bait, but it didn't make it easier to stop.

Albus: please just listen to me. Can I tell you a secret?

Scorpius didn't protest so he carried on.

Albus: you were my first kiss. 

Scorpius was confused. What was Albus trying to do?

Albus: I know you think for whatever reason, that night was a dare but it wasn't. I would never let my first kiss happen like that. And out of interest who do you think 'dared' me?

Scorpius didn't know the answer to that.

Albus: because if you haven't noticed you are or maybe were my only friend. Rose is nice but at the end of the day she's only my cousin. And besides, her friends aren't the type to give out dares.

Scorpius finally found the courage to speak

Scorpius: it seems like you're pretty friendly with the Slytherin boys

Albus was shocked

Albus: If you haven't noticed, they hate me. Your dad is Draco Malfoy - they love you! Your a pure blood, with a rich family. They like you a hella lot more then me! My dad - got their friends and even family put in Azkaban. So if anyone's cozy with the other Slytherin's it's you!

Scorpius hadn't thought about that. He thought Albus just didn't want to speak around him. He never noticed how the others tried to block him out, how they spoke over him. But Scorpius wasn't going to give up that easily.

Scorpius: You seemed very friendly with that girl 

Albus: Don't pull that billshit. You know exactly what I'm doing! You've been doing it yourself since first year!

Scorpius didn't have to think to understand what Albus was talking about. He knew it was true. He had just been to dumb to see it.

Albus: I don't know what I'm doing trying to convince you. You've obviously made up your mind and I guess I can't change that. 

Scorpius suddenly felt terrible.

Scorpius: Albus, I'm the one being to dick and I know you feel like it's your fault but it's mine. I could of spoken to you after you looked away on Christmas Day. I could of invited you to sit with the Slytherin's so they wouldn't shun you to the side. You have every right to be mad at me but our friendship, even if that's only what it is, means so much to me and even if you are, I'm not ready to end it.  

Albus felt happiness rush through him. Maybe things could go back to normal?

Albus: Trust me, I'm really not ready to end it.

He let out a nervous laugh.

Albus: I know I can't change your opinion but trust me I am the dick. You weren't the one kissing a clueless girl who generally thought you liked her, just so you could shut your thoughts about about someone else out. 

Scorpius laughed a proper laugh.

Scorpius: How did this end up as a conversation on who is more of a dick?

Albus smiled. It looked like they were friends again.

Albus: If I recall, who were the one who started it!

Scorpius felt happier then he had felt for weeks.

Scorpius: If you say so! 

Suddenly Albus had a thought.

Albus: I know that it's not the best idea to bring this up when we're so happy but what is our relationship status from now on? Are we Friends, Best Friends, or...

He lowered his voice to a whisper

Albus: Lovers

Scorpius thought for a second before answering.

Scorpius: I think, for now, we should stay as friends. You saw how being more then that effected us. Maybe sometime in the future we could be-

He went to imitate Albus

Scorpius: Lovers. But for now let's just stay friends.

Albus thought this would hurt him, but to his surprise he felt relief. 

Albus: Best friends.

That's the end of the main storyline! I'm going to write an epilogue soon so don't forget about this book please! This has been really fun writing and although not many people have read it yet, hopefully in the future it gets more reads! (Although it's fine if not) I hope you had an amazing day and an amazing time reading this!
