Drizzlepaw's POV

Drizzlepaw narrowed his eyes slightly as his mentor, Flowerlily, stared at the stars. It was around midnight and he had been woken up by the sound of her nest rustling. She seemed so distant lately. Sitting outside of the medicine cats' den and just staring up at the sky. She almost never spoke to him.
He got to his paws, his tail twitching, and he slowly padded towards her until his head was next to her.
"Flowerlily?" he meowed.
She just twitched her ear in reply. Drizzlepaw's hazel gaze hardened slightly before he glanced up at the stars. One at a time, they seemed to shine a little brighter before going back to their normal state.
What's even so special about these...stars. The last thing they are is a cat's spirit.
He flattened his ears as he shifted his eyes back to Flowerlily, who still hadn't moved a bit.
"Is something wrong?" he asked.
She had been doing this too much. He was getting tired of it. She finally turned her head and looked at him, clearly not being affected by his tone.
"StarClan has not spoken." she meowed with her soft voice that was so light it was hard differ from a loud whisper.
"Of course they haven't." Drizzlepaw muttered lowly, getting tired of his mentor's constant daydreaming about these cats.
Flowerlily shook her head slowly. Without saying anything else, she slowly pushed herself to her paws and headed into the den.
Drizzlepaw carefully examined her state; she was so frail her spine and rib cage were showing. He followed her in and rested his tail on her shoulder, "Flowerlily, you need to sleep, eat, relax. You barely ever do." he meowed.
She shrugged his tail off.
"There is something wrong with StarClan. You may never have experienced having any communication with them, but I have." she almost hissed, "They would never just leave because they can."
Drizzlepaw stopped himself from getting riled up like he usually did.
"You have blind faith in them." he snapped, "If they exist, they would tell us something. Maybe they just don't care anymore. They're dead cats anyway."
With that, Flowerlily let out a snort and moved away over to her nest. Drizzlepaw shook his head and glanced at the stars before padding over to his own nest.
If StarClan really does exist, then they'd better prove themselves quickly.

Drizzlepaw padded near the WindClan boarder, sniffing out for any herbs. His whiskers twitched at the scent of marigold. He lashed his tail and wrinkled his muzzle slightly. He sneezed whenever he was near that stuff. He started to go off into his thoughts without noticing, again. Drizzlepaw stared at the clouds, not having much of a clue to why he was. The clouds moved across the sky and he narrowed his eyes slightly, thinking about Flowerlily and her behavior. She still goes to every half-moon, but always comes back disappointed.
Why doesn't she just give up already? It's been, what, seasons? Since the last time StarClan even showed up in her dreams.
His ears perked at the sound of paw steps approaching, pulling him out of his thoughts. He looked down from the sky, expecting to see Flowerlily. Instead, his eyes met with a different cat; Leapfoot of WindClan.
"Is there something you need?" she asked.
Drizzlepaw's blinked, "Er, no..."
"Well you've been standing there for for who-knows how long." she meowed.
"Do you have a problem with that?" he questioned in response.
Leapfoot twitched her ear and her pupils narrowed slightly, it was impossible to read her expressions.
"That depends. Are you waiting for someone?" she asked.
Drizzlepaw's lowered his head back to where he normally kept it; below his shoulders.
"No, but do you mind not staring at me the whole time?" he muttered.
Leapfoot finally showed some kind of emotion, but it was amusement.
"What? Can't a cat have some kind of alone-time?" Drizzlepaw pressed with irritation.
She just chuckled, "You're an interesting cat, Drizzlepaw. I can tell something's troubling you, but I won't ask. Tell Flowerlily I say hi."
With that, Leapfoot trotted away, most likely back towards some patrol. Drizzlepaw twitched the tip of his tail and rolled his eyes slightly before picking up the herbs he gathered and heading back towards his mentor.
