Bruce's P.O.V.
Another report of a high up place being robbed. A connection besides jewelry has to be somewhere, I just knew it, so I patiently waited for the detectives to leave the room before I could investigate. When I heard the door close, I swiftly jumped down onto the porch and glided through the sliding door, pulling out a small UV scanner and looking through it to look over the room. I spotted a small claw mark on the table, looking over it and taking a few pictures with the scanner. I also noticed a very small feather on the ground, picking it up with tweezers and placing it into a vile, when the door opened again.
"I thought I set it on the-" Ethan said, when he suddenly shined the flashlight on me at the window.
"The Batman!" His partner, Yin, declared as she pulled out her gun. "Freeze!"
I ignored her and jumped out the window, knowing there was no way they would be able to follow me from the height, nor shoot to risk civilian lives. I used a grappling hook to swing up onto another building and make my escape back to the Batcave, where I analyzed the claw marks and the feather.
"Hey Alfred," I said as I heard him and Ella approaching. "Check this out. Strictsnebulanosiponica. A rare species of owl native to China. According to the Batwave's search function, these scratches from the victim's dressing table match the owl's talents span. Someone has trained a bird to perform burglaries."
"Impressive," Ella mused as Alfred coughed.
"Without suggesting that I'm not sufficiently impressed with your deductive powers Master Bruce, I must remind you you have a Gala Fundraiser to host with your wife," Alfred said.
"Right, Alfred, tomorrow night," I responded.
"Bruce, it is tomorrow night," Ella said, my eyes widening a bit as I turned to the two.
"We wouldn't want any guests growing suspicious of how billionaire Bruce Wayne really spends his time after dark now, would we?" Alfred pointed out, and I nodded in agreement as I took my suit from Alfred.
I suddenly looked over Ella and my eyes widened at the sight of her in a form-fitting, short white dress. I was pleasantly surprised, she usually worse less revealing dresses, though I didn't mind this one bit. Ella noticed my gaze and she blushed, looking up with an innocent look.
"What?" She asked, and I grinned as I grabbed her by her waist and pulled her close to me, causing her to giggle.
"Nothing, you just look good," I said quietly, leaning down and kissing her neck, feeling a shutter running down her skin. "Not sure how I feel about others seeing you in that though..."
Ella grinned and giggled softly, pulling back and heading for the elevator.
"How else was I going to be able to get you upstairs?" Ella asked. "Plus, I don't want your eyes off of me, Mr. Wayne."
She smirked as the elevator doors closed, and I grinned as I ran to put on my suit.
Later that night... Ella's P.O.V.
The main floor was full of bright lights, loud music, and food, making it pretty much another successful gala, but it still wasn't over yet. The party had only begun thirty minutes ago, and as I guessed, Bruce had been keeping me close the entire night. There were a ton of press and photographers outside, which I didn't mind too much, I was just worried that if Bruce was called away he'd be spotted.
"Bruce Wayne!" The two of us turned to see a short man with a tall hat and umbrella, followed by two Asian women, approach us. "King of the Castle! Ruler of the rule."
