Chap.8 || Amethyst Elytra

Gem's POV

"It's called the Wither Rose Alliance."

"What a cool name!" I exclaimed, Pearl smiled. "What do you think ay? Wanna join?" I chuckled, "I'll think about it, but maybe we should figure out more about this demon." Pearl shook her head, "Right right. So we know that it's probably getting more powerful and that Amethyst can fend off the corruption." She explained.

"Okay, I'll write that in my notes." I said, "Notes? Can I have those?" Pearl asked. "Of course! You can copy mine, just swing by my empire tomorrow."

"Alright, I have to go now but see you tomorrow Gem!" Pearl said before shooting into the sky, "Goodbye Pearl!" I yelled. Once she left, I walked towards the balcony and flew to my highest tower.

Once I landed, I walked over to the lectern and took my Grimoire out of it. This book was given to me by my past maid River. I've always treasured it since it was purple which in fact is my favorite color, all the other things me and FWhip normally get were red and black which I thought were not my style. People always gets us the same gifts since they think we were the same but we're polar opposites. 

I wrote what Pearl said down and wrote some other stuff. Once finished, I closed the book and put it back on the lectern. I've been practicing some spells with my staff and thought I should give it a try. I casted a protection spell and hoped I did it correctly, surprisingly I did. A shiny transparent purple dome covered the lectern, I touched the dome only to flinch and pull my hand back since it sent an electrical shock through my body. 

At least I know nobody is gonna be touching that, luckily I can undo the spell and take the book out anytime I want. I realized it was getting dark so I decided to go to sleep. I glanced around my empire before my eyes landed on one of my towers, It was a tower with a moon on top attached to my actual Wizard tower. I built it to make my Wizard tower look even better.

I looked closely at the moon on my tower, I see flashes of purple light coming from there. I flew down to take a closer look.

I landed on the moon and realized that it was a pair of beautiful Amethyst wings. I awed at the sight, It was a bunch of Amethyst put together to make it look like wings. The Amethyst weren't attached to each other making it look like the Amethyst's are floating. 

Was this for me? Was this from that anonymous person who keeps helping me? I was curious so I took off my normal elytras and backed into the Amethyst wings, I felt something latch onto my shoulder when I realized it was the elytra. 

I took a look at it. It was beautiful! I tested them by falling off the tower, the Amethyst elytras opened wide as I started gliding through the night. I started gliding to my balcony, I landed right in my house and turned to my bed. Gandalf was sitting on my bed playing with his favorite toy. 

"Gandalf!" I called getting his attention, "Look! Do you like them?" I asked referring to my wings. I turned around so he could see them better, he meowed and nodded. He meowed and laid on his back signaling me it was time to sleep. 

I sigh, I was tired. Plus, Pearl was coming over tomorrow so better get a good nights sleep. I look around and see an armor stand, I take off my elytra and attached it to the back of the armor stand. I stretch and walk to my bed, I placed my staff next to the bed as Gandalf moved a bit so I could lay down. I laid down as Gandalf walked over to my bedside table, he jumped onto a shelf which had his cat bed. He spun around his bed before laying down and meowing a goodnight to me.

I chuckled, "Goodnight to you too Gandalf." I closed my eyes and went to sleep.

-In The Morning-

Third Person POV

Gem woke up bright and early remembering that Pearl was coming over. She stretched as usual and grabbed her staff, she casted a levitating spell to levitate herself so she could check on gandalf. Gandalf was still asleep so she decided to leave him alone. She took her wings from the armor stand, her wings started to float and attached themselves to her back. 

Gem was surprised but shrugged it off, she took her rockets out and flew to the top of her wizard tower. She landed and pulled out her staff, she casted a spell that would undo the spell she casted to protect her Grimoire. The transparent purple dome faded away, she took the book and kept it in her inventory. She jumped off the tower to glide down slowly. 

As she landed on the ground, Pearl flew right over her. 'Just in time." Gem thought. Once Pearl landed, Gem ran over to her. "Hey!" She called, Pearl smiled. "Hey Gem. You got those notes?" She asked bringing out her own notebook. Gem nodded, she pulled out her Grimoire. "Just copy what I wrote there." She said as Pearl started writing.

Once pearl finished, she handed the book back to Gem. "Thanks for the notes, I'll be sure to update you if any more corruption spreads." "Anytime, I just hope my crystals holds off the corruption long enough until we can do something." 

"I like your wings." Pearl complimented, "Thank you! I just got them." Gem replies, "Anyways, I have to go. I have a huge project to do." Pearl says, "It's fine, good luck on your project." Gem says making sure her book is in her inventory. "Thanks!" Pearl said taking out her rockets. 

With one last wave from Gem, Pearl shot into the sky and left.
