Prologue

Kim's P.O.V.

I walked towards my chair as my granddaughter was tucked tightly into bed. I looked out of the window seeing the mansion upon the hill. "Snuggle in, sweetie. It's cold out there." I told her. "Why is it snowing, Grandma? Where does it come from?" She asked. "Oh, that's a long story, sweetheart." I told her. "I wanna hear." She said. "Oh, not tonight. Go to sleep." I pleaded with her.

"I'm not sleepy. Tell me, please?" She asked. "Well, all right. Let's see. I guess, it would have to start with scissors." I began. "Scissors?" My granddaughter asked with curiosity. "Well, there are all kinds of scissors. And, once there was even a man who had scissors for hands." I told her. "A man?" She asked again.

"Yes." I said. "Hand-Scissors?" She asked. "No. Scissorhands." I laughed a little. "You know the mansion on top of the mountain?" I asked. "It's haunted." My grandaughter stated. 

"Well, a long time ago, an inventor lived in that mansion. He made many things, I suppose. He also created a man. He gave him insides, a heart, a brain, everything. Well, almost everything. You see the inventor was very old. He died before he got to finish the man he invented, so the man was left by himself, incomplete & all alone." I began.

"He didn't have a name?" My granddaughter asked. "Of course, he had a name. His name was Edward & you know my sister met him before." I said. "She did?" My granddaughter said. "Yes, I remember it like it was yesterday." I started to flash back to when we were younger.
