Chapter 11: Nurse

"But the kids.. the kids say Sarah Fier made her do it"

Nick followed the two girls as they left.

Ziggy wipes her nose a little then turned to look at Jackie and stood in front of her.

She holds Jackie's shoulders, earning a confused look from her. "What?" Jackie asked.

"You okay?" Ziggy asked the girl.

"You're the one that got burned. Not me" Jackie stated, the redhead holds up Jackie's wrist for her to see.

"That bitch" Ziggy muttered.

Jackie shrugged. "Doesn't even hurt" she half lied. Ziggy gives her a look, making Jackie sigh.

"Maybe a little. But ice will fix it, come on"

They were about to leave when Nick stops them. "Hey" Jackie rolled her eyes at his voice.

"Have Nurse Lane check that burn out"

"I'm gonna let it get infected and die" Ziggy grunted.

"I don't get a thank you?" Nick asked arrogantly, the two girls turned to look at him.

They look at each other in disbelief.

"Oh! I'm sorry, I forgot" Ziggy told him,

"Thank you King of Sunnyvale, future police Chief Nick Goode for rescuing poor little Shadysider me!" She continued, her voice dripping in sarcasm. She then turned to Jackie.

Jackie smirked. "Jackie, how could I ever repay him?"

"Oh I know, You should bat your eyes at him, like all the other dumbass girls" Ziggy chuckled at Jackie playing along.

They both laugh at the boy; Jackie gently grabs her hand and pulls Ziggy along as they both flip him off, their faces dropping.

"We should get back at her" Jackie said as they walked, referring to Sheila.

"I was thinking the same thing. When did you start to be like this?" Ziggy teasingly asked.

"You're starting to rub on me"

"Color War begins tonight guys! Line up and grab shirt!"

"Blue is for beautiful, if you live in Shadyside. Red is for radiance if you live in Sunnyvale. Despite our differences, we're all perfect" Joan spoke loudly as the two girls walked hand in hand towards the clinic.

Ziggy suddenly gets hit by a blue shirt as well as Jackie.

"Even you Ziggy Berman and Jackilynne Reyes!" Ziggy narrowed her eyes at the energetic girl.

Ziggy turned to Jackie who shrugged. "My current clothes are pretty dirty" Jackie stated, looking at her dirt filled shirt.

The redhead rolled her eyes and grabbed Jackie's hand to leave.

The bell rung as the two opened the door.

"Nurse Lane! Hello! I'm in trouble again help"

Jackie looks around. "You know, I should teach you how to steal and not get caught. I'm great at that" she whispered and winked, Ziggy rolled her eyes while smiling.

"I'm supposed to believe that?" Ziggy whispered back.

"Yeah" Jackie pulled out the ten bucks she stole back from Sheila.

"How—"

"Stole it when I was getting up. Impressive, right? Ooh and I should teach you how to not get caught"
