Niall runs his hands through his hair one more time, praying to anything and everything that he looks alright.

He was the wingman in this, and he couldn't screw anything up. He needed to make sure that tonight, was perfect.

"Nialler!" Louis yells from the downstairs, pacing about the living room. "Are you almost ready? He will be back soon!"

"One second! I just need to make sure I look okay!" Niall yells back, now fixing his shirt buttons.

"I'm sure you look great, Ni. Just hurry!"

Niall takes a few deep breaths, looking at the mirror once more before exiting the guest room of Harry and Louis' house.

They decided to move in about a year after Louis came back. They couldn't spend much time apart from each other, and Louis could work from wherever, so naturally, moving in together was the easiest solution. Niall was a little sad that he was losing his roommate, but Louis promised that he would always have a guest bedroom that he could call his own whenever he came to visit.

"Everything is set up?" Niall asks, raising an eyebrow in Louis' direction.

"Obviously." Louis nods, taking a deep breath. "Now please, leave my house and go pick up Harry. His train arrives soon."

Niall smiles and grabs his keys, a look of determination splattered on his face.

"Alright, I'll see you soon." Niall grins and leans in to give Louis a hug. "Best of luck, mate. Love you."

Louis smiles a genuine smile, nerves melting away for only a second.

"Love you too, Niall. Now get your ass out of my house and go pick up my boyfriend!"

Louis walks him to the front door, opening it and stepping aside for Niall to get past him.

"Soon-to-be-" Niall sings, getting cut off by Louis slamming the door in his face. Louis laughs to himself, patting his own back for his comedic timing.

And now, it was game time.

With Niall on his way to pick up Harry, Louis had around 25 minutes to make sure everything was set up perfectly. The candles on the table needed to be lit, the dinner in the oven needed to be served onto plates, and his crooked tie needed to be straightened.

Louis sighed to himself, rubbing his palm over his face before starting the tasks at hand.

By the time he was finally straightening his tie in the mirror, Louis had 3 minutes left to spare. Niall had texted him that they left the train station about 5 minutes ago, so Louis had to make sure he was ready, physically and mentally.

He had already thrown up twice this morning, anticipating his night.

Louis was sure that Harry was just excited to be back home after spending the week with his mum and sister. But the surprise waiting for him at home would be better than Louis just sitting on the couch with a bottle of wine and some cookies.
