The next day, Aether was summoned by jean to talk with her. The other main knights were present- amber, lisa and kaeya. Jean issued him a few days to rest and recommended he see barbara. Jean had said that she knew all to well what it was liked to be overworked and apologized to aether.
She offered compensation but aether declined. He couldnt ask for much more. He already felt nervous having to confront this problem. Kaeya wished him well and told him to keep fighting, along with Amber. Lisa attempted to flirt while also giving him words of reassurance.
The rest of town was kind to aether despite his past behavior. They responded well. Aether was relieved. Friends stopped by his camp to let him know they could come around for anything if he needed.
Aether didnt want to be pampered over one freak out. Guilt tugged at the back at his mind, but he knew this was better. He tried not to think about Lumine or any of his other problems.
Diluc had invited him earlier to get a drink and go cloudgazing. Aether recognized he really did deserve a drink now and came partially to terms with everything happening. He accepted dilucs offer.
It was okay. things were peaceful now. He felt truly, really, definitely... happy. He couldnt thank everyone, especially Diluc more. When he told Diluc what happened with the knights, diluc was shocked. They laughed together. Aether didnt regret anything.
