Narrator's POV

"Hah.." Bucky sighed as he knelt down in front of the dryer machine with a basket of clothes in his right hand.

He and Sam had split chores now.

He was simply putting the clothes in the washer and switching it to the dryer.

He took ahold of the dryer door and..

He began to stick clothes in the dryer.

Sam passed by with a mug of coffee, soon backing up and stopping to take a look at the scene. "I-" He brushed it off. "Keep up the good work." He walked away.

Bucky put a dryer sheet in after finishing off all the clothes and put the door back on. He started the dryer and walked away.

Bucky was sitting down on the couch, petting Apline. He pet her carefully with his arm.

Apline would turn over on her belly now and then, nibbling at the metal fingers in a playful manner.

Bucky chuckled. He noticed a white dot move across the room. He watched it move around, coming to a stop. Raising a brow, he looked down at his arm, then at the dot. He moved his arm, the dot moved.

It was the shiny reflection from something. It began to move more controlled and slowly.

Oh, his arm.

Bucky watched it, moving his arm carefully. He raised a brow. He went back to watching the reflection, watching it as it made its way across the room and moving slowly up the couch where Sam was sitting.

Sam was simply enjoying an article about health and beauty in a magazine as he sipped on some juice.

The dot climbed up onto the couch next to him and slowly approached him, climbing up his arm, up his neck and up to his face.

Sam squinted, jerking his head back a little as a shiny light from a reflection blinded him. "What the-" He moved, seeing Bucky sitting across from his moving his arm. "Barnes."

Bucky let his arm fall, looking up. "Yes?"

Sam stopped, sighing and going back to his article.

Bucky went back to shining the light at Sam.

"Bucky." Sam put the magazine down and looked at him.

"What? I'm just playing with Alpine." Bucky said, petting Alpine.

"Uh-huh. Oh yeah, use her as a-"

The drying jingle went off.

"Your turn." Bucky said, tossing his head in the direction of the dryer.

Sam stood up, walking over to the laundry room. He came back shortly with a basket and began to fold clothes.

Alpine jumped out of Bucky's arms, running across the room with a high pitched purr. She jumped on the couch, lying on a warm shirt Sam had just finished folding.

Sam smiled at her and scratched her chin. "Hey, girl." He pet her, getting purrs from her.

Bucky watched her then. He was a bit jealous Alpine had gone over there.

Did she prefer Sam?

Psh, she didn't prefer Sam over him. She was only there for the warm clothes.

Sam scoffed as he watched Alpine, but folded clothes. "She's grown."

Bucky didn't say anything.

"How old do you think she is?" Sam asked. "Maybe two months?"

"She's six weeks." Bucky said, keeping his eyes across the room.

Sam nodded, putting another shirt on the stack he was making.

Alpine climbed on the pile, making it too over. She looked up at Sam and meowed.

"Alpine." Sam sighed.

Bucky turned to Sam. "Need help?"

Sam was a bit shocked. "You want to help me with my chores?"

"I have nothing better to do." Bucky stood up and walked over to Sam, picking up a shirt, turning it inside out the right way and folding it.

Sam looked at his shirt. "Who taught you to fold clothes?"

"Steve. He helped me fold mine every night." Bucky said.

"No, no." Sam picked up the shirt Bucky folded, and undid it. "He taught you wrong." He said, "First, you fold on the side, then you pick up the bottom.."

Bucky tried his best to follow.

"...and then, you're done." Sam set down a neatly folded shirt. He looked over at Bucky's shirt.

"Um.." Bucky said, looking down at his own folding.

Sam let his head fall, laughing and shaking his head. "Kinda looks like Jaba the Hut."

"I tried, okay?" Bucky said.

Sam let the last of his laughs out. "It takes practice. Let's do it again."

Bucky unfolded his shirt and began again, following Sam.

After a few more failed attempts, Bucky finally got it.

It was only a matter of minutes before they finished the entire basket.

"We did good." Sam said, lifting an arm to pat Bucky in the back. "We rock at this chores thing.

"Sure do." Bucky nodded, crossing his arms over his chest.

Alpine meowed at the two before swatting at a stack of clothes.

The stack fell over and off the couch.

"Apline!" Sam threw his hands in the air.

"She's just a baby." Bucky said, defending her.

"He seems to be doing a lot better."

"All he needed was a little break from all the stress." Steve said, taking a drink from his water.

He and Sam were sitting outside on the balcony of the retirement home, enjoying the view.

"I'm still worried about him."

"He just needs a little more time." Steve said, stuck in this daze as memories flowed back into her mind. "HYDRA traumatized him." He looked down. "They took him apart and put him back together. I wish I could've.. We should've gone back to.."

His thoughts were interrupted when Sam placed a hand on his shoulder, causing him to jump a bit and gasp.

"It's okay, Steve." Sam reassured him.

Steve looked at him, sighing.

Sam flipped through pages of a newspaper, peacefully reading articles and other advertisements in the newspaper as he sat on the toilet; killing time.

Suddenly, the door knob started to turn. Luckily, the door was locked.

"I'll be out i-"

>CRACK<

The door came off, revealing Bucky standing at the door with a mug.

"Um.." Sam looked up at him.

"Dammit." Bucky said, putting the door back and walking away.

Sam staid frozen in place, hearing Bucky walk away before sighing in relief.

What had just..

"Barnes! You are fixing that door! I am not having that go on our rent!" Sam shouted.
