I've been crying
for the past two days.
I had finally told my parents
about me liking Nick.
They thought I was joking
and laughed it off
like it was nothing.
But me being me,
I insisted
until they realized
that I wasn't lying.
My daddy's face turned so red
and mommy's face turned white.
Seconds barely passed
before a harsh,
painful sting encased my cheek.
Daddy had slapped me,
and it wasn't long
before he was yelling.
I think I almost went deaf
and my tears didn't help.
Though, mommy
just cried.
She couldn't even look at me.
I felt dirty,
wrong.
If my parents
couldn't even accept the fact
that I had feelings for a boy,
how would everyone else
react?
Twelve days until my birthday.
