7. Onyx Rain

Tall, dark and angry. A young boy flagged by two ginger haired twins marched in the same direction as us. Thoughts spun in my head as I noticed the small trickle of blood running down his face. Remembering what my father had taught me I ran off towards him.

Me: hey, you looked like you needed some help, can I assist you with that?
Dark haired boy: Shove off!

He stormed away before i could utter another word.

Timber: what gives?
Simon: you're not ditching us are you?

I laughed at the suggestion but couldn't help thinking about the torn look in the dark haired boys face. He was in pain but too stubborn for help.

Me: I only wanted to help.
Simon: Syril, you can't help everyone. I'm sorry.
Me: it doesn't matter, the offer is still open if he wants it.

Quietly we made our way to opal court where our dorm room was. It was a small room with 3 single beds, a sink and bath in one room and a small oven with mini fridge to the left fo the main room. Although it wasn't exactly luxurious, it still worked.

Simon: luckily theres storage boxes under the beds.
Timber: fancy not adding wardrobes.
Me: guess they couldn't afford it?

Simon and Timber laughed at my confusion. Just as the room was falling quiet, we heard a thud from across the landing.

Timber: don't look now but stubborn head just arrived.

Curious I turned my head and noticed the dark haired boy from earlier. This time however he came and sat directly in front of me, both Timber and Simon were just as shocked as I was.

Onyx: I'm onyx. Hope you know how to work these.

He was holding a surgical needle and stitches, I nodded with a small smile and began to get to work. My sutures weren't perfect but they held his brow together and stopped the bleeding almost completely.

Onyx: thanks.

His word was a mere grumble as he got up and left me to go back to my unpacking.

Timber: guess he's not so stubborn after all.
Me: I still can't fathom what did that to him tho.
Simon: the wound, it almost looks like it was made... on purpose.
