Simon: so you mean to tell me you went out with Ashley?!
Timber shrugged as he played with his food. The cafeteria was packed with busy boys getting their lunch as Simon, Timber and I sat on a corner table discussing the warning from the twins who we now knew to be Katrian and Ashley Oakendale.
Timber: it didn't last long, primary school ended and he moved house. We lost touch and shortly after realised we didn't want a long distance relationship.
Me: that must be rough.
Simon: did you ever officially break up tho.
Timber: we were kids Simon, of course not.
Me: something tells me you're not over him.
Timber shrugged, a ghostly smile tugged at his lips. I had hit the nail on the head so to speak. Before either rif us could say much more Ashley approached and Simon went on the defence.
Simon: bug off Ashley we don't want your trouble!
Ashley: this is between me and Timber. Timber I need a word.
Timber was hesitant but followed Ashley out towards the lockers, I shot a worried look to Simon who returned with a small smile.
~meanwhile~
Ashley leaned against the lockers and sighed as he took me in.
Timber: what?
Ashley: you haven't changed a bit have you?
Timber: was I supposed to?
Ashley rolled his eyes and gripped me by the collar, I knew what came next yet I let it happen. His lips crashed on mine as he groaned. Gently I cupped his head and held onto him.
Timber: you know.... I never got over you.
The kiss was sweet and lingered a little longer than either of us expected. Soft panting echoed in the silence that set afterwards.
Timber: not a word, to anyone else.
Ashley: agreed, my brother would kill me.
