"Wait Alpha, What does that even mean, stop, you can't just stab my dad." He turned growling at me.

"You are mine!" I felt like that was completely unrelated to the fact that he was attempting to stab my father. I've also only been here like 2 days and we never even spoke.

"Um....Alpha Ares, your wolf is being irrational, if you show up on my father's territory and attempt to kill him, it's gonna start a war. My dad has been able to secure his power through the amount of Allies he has and if you attack now, it will be seen as a threat against them all." I could see his wolf thinking it through, his eyes dulling back to the brown and gold rather than the solid gold they just were.

"It's a war I'd win. He has no right to hurt what is mine." Clearly it was his wolf at the forefront. Wolves are possessive. I think when my father gave me to him, his wolf now felt he held ownership over me.

"I understand that, but in his defense, I wasn't yours when it happened," his eyes were now more brown than gold. He closed his eyes.

"But you are mine now," I didn't get to reply because when he opened his eyes now they were solid brown.

"What is your wolf's name?" His eyes were narrowed, not at me in particular, but I could tell he was talking to someone.

He opened his mouth to reply to me, but there was a hard knock on the door downstairs.

He looked disgruntled and I could clearly see he wasn't in any position to face whoever was at the door, so I walked down, while he still talked to whoever he was linking. I opened the door, shocked to find Kerr at the door, with a few other wolves standing in the clearing. All of them were dressed in Armor, clearly ready to attack and follow any command Ares had.

"Sorry to intrude so late at night, but I'm here because the Alpha called," his eyes trailed down my legs, then back up staring me in the face with a look in his eyes that made me uncomfortable. I bristled stepping back.

I could hear his footsteps come down the steps and he looked a bit better, but now he was glaring at Kerr, his wolf coming back up, the gold now present again.

"Look away  now pup before I tear your eyes out of your head." His voice was different, gruffer, borderline growling. Kerr turned away immediately as Ares picked me up with a single arm around my waist placing me behind him. I looked down at my night gown wishing it covered me more, it was a thin strapped cream colored nighty, lined in black lace, my mom, she had this idea in her head that ladies couldn't wear normal pajamas, it all had to be silk, custom made, perfectly matching, and expensive. I suddenly began to feel that Kerr had been staring at my scars and I felt the same shame I felt earlier. "Go upstairs mate, I'll be up soon." His wolf had taken full control again. I walked away knowing to obey his wolf or his wolf would think I was challenging him.

I stood at the top of the stairs listening to his wolf growl about it being a drill, and that there was no danger, he also told them to run perimeter then go back to bed. I went back in the room, missing the end of the conversation when they began to talk about Kerr getting his neck snapped if he ever looked at me like that again. I got back in the bed with my head racing.

Ares may hate me, but his wolf doesn't. I'd never seen anyone's wolf take over like that, my brother's had done it once, but even then his green eyes were ever present even under the silver of his wolf's. That was when he was going to challenge my father. My father was in love with my mom and even his wolf wasn't as possessive as Ares's. Ares's wolf took over entirely, that's not normal.
