Note:
Olivia Matela, 15-year-old daughter of Olli Matela
If you want to know the concept before reading, scroll to the end of the chapter. No spoilers for those who don't want them ;)
It had been hard for Olivia. The girl was barely five when she lost her mother in a car accident. Ever since that day, she had to grow up without a mother figure. After that one frightful night they were left alone with her dad, Olli Matela, the bassist of Blind Channel. It was hard to have a steady and normal life as a teenager, when everybody knew who she was. Well, at least they knew who her father was. It made Olivia's life a bit more complicated than the other girls' her age. People wanted to hang out with her only because of her dad. It was hard to know if they wanted to be friends with her, or if they were just using her.
After the tragical event that took their loved one's life, the band was there for Olli and his daughter. Sometimes they would take Olivia to school or babysit her when Olli needed some time for himself. It didn't bother the little girl, because she really liked the whole band. Especially Aleksi, he was her favorite for sure. There was just something in the dark haired man's appearance that made her feel safe and loved. As you can guess, things were a bit different when she grew up and became a teenager. There wasn't need for babysitting anymore, she could handle herself. She didn't need a ride to school, because she'd learned to get there by herself. Yet she loved all the members of Blind Channel and the crew. They were her family, nothing could ever change that.
However, there was a new light in Olli's life. He had found himself a partner, Hanna. She was pretty much the same age as him and claimed to like children. But what he didn't know was that Olivia didn't like her. Not at all. She didn't want a new mother, nobody could take her own mom's place. Especially not Hanna. In Olivia's opinion, she was arrogant, rude and selfish. When her dad was near, they could live in some kind of harmony. But when he wasn't, oh God. They would fight all the time over some stupid things like doing the dishes or cleaning her room. The girl hated that there was a random woman trying to be her mom and boss her around in her territory. But the witch seemed to make her dad happy again, so she just had to deal with it.
It was a normal Monday afternoon, Olivia was walking home from school. The day had been long and exhausting, she was pretty tired. Her dad wouldn't be home for the next few hours, so she'd have some time for herself. But of course there had to be one, stupid, condition. She would be alone only if Hanna wasn't home. If she was, Olivia could say goodbyes for peace. Then it would probably just get to the point where they're yelling at each other and arguing about everything. It was something that the highschooler didn't want to do right now. She didn't have the energy for that.
The door was opened, Olivia stepped inside their apartment. Fuck, of course she had to be here. Hanna's shoes were in place, which only meant one thing; she was here, ready to bully her boyfriend's only daughter. At least that's how Olivia saw the situation. She let a small sigh escape her lungs before walking further into the house. She went straight to her room, not wanting to see the other woman. Some grumpy noises were heard from the living room, but she couldn't have cared less. Not long after, the older woman stormed into Olivia's room without any warnings.
"You could've at least knocked." The girl said sarcastically.
"Oh please. Just like the knocking was going to help with your shitty attitude." The older woman mocked.
"What do you want? Can't you see that I'm busy?" Olivia changed the subject as she took out her laptop and books. She was about to start doing her homework, but someone was distracting her.
"Can't I just talk to you anymore? Why do you always have to be like that?" An angry tone was heard from Hanna's voice. She was annoying the younger one, and she knew that.
