This chapter parallels the events of chapter 10.
An ominous figure appeared in the doorway.
"Sir! We have a crisis! It appears to be regaining consciousness!" She yelled, panicked.
A low, groaning voice mumbled quietly but strictly "God dammit! I knew them human memories wouldn't last long... go apply more pressure and add more memories"
He paused.
"And hurry. We need to extract it before it's too late, it's a ticking time bomb now"."Yes sir!" She ran off back down the hallway, footsteps could be heard from miles away.
She entered the control room, and grabbed everyone's attention.
"Boss said to put more pressure. You, put it back to sleep. And you, put some more of those human memories into it".
"Yes ma'am" everyone replied as they got to work.
The ground rumbled, as it began to awake from its slumber. It fought. It tried. Every alarm, every red light was all triggered.
Everyone panicked as they frantically worked to maintain control. The chosen worker turned the pressure right up to full without hesitation.
A college reconsidered. "Don't you think full is a bit... To much. It may affect our extraction if too much damage is caused"
But he was adiment, as he turned the pressure down by a tiny fraction. "Fine, there".
The ground shook some more as it was being put back down, it had no shot now.
Another designated worker clicked and tapped on advanced technology to inject human memories, thoughts into it. The technology looked otherworldly.
The ominous figure looked pleased "well done. It seems we can continue now. I'll go tell the boss"
She walked down the hallway once more with a pleased grin on her face. That thing has no chance. This was going to be a walk in the park to extract it.
She stood by the boss's door again. "sir. It's all under control. It's back under control and extraction can continue". Her voice shook a little.
The boss tapped a finger on the side of his chair. He was engulfed in darkness, his face not visible to the shadows.
"Good." He grumbled.
She looked unsatisfied with this response. "So... if you don't mind sir you don't have to answer, but everyone wants to know what we're going to be doing once we've extracted the-"
She was cut off with a bark. "SILENCE! YOU DO NOT HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO QUESTION OUR MOTIVES." He sighed. "But one day, I guess you will find out. Just wait and see. Now go before I loose my temper" he whispered.
"Yes sir. Sorry sir" she walked a few steps then legged it down the corridor and panted heavily.
She got out some unknown technology, and stared at it. It was almost like she felt a little sympathy in her eyes for the beast. The guardian. The king. Whatever you want to call it. She had no clue what would happen to half of it.
She frowned and took control, turning the pressure back up to full.
The boss was still sat in his chair. He constantly tapped a finger off the side, thinking. He thought and grinned. Soon there would be no good, just evil.
He knew he was evil. And he liked it. But that thing, that beast, was also half evil. For now.
End of chapter 11
Thanks for reading this chapter! A change from the last 10 as this mini story sprints to a close. I think it'll be around 15 chapters. But this is only the 'before' to another big story I have planned for the future! Also, if your wondering why everything in this episode is so vague (no one has names, no description of what they look like, no description of the place, or the 'beast') that's intentional. I haven't finalized what I want everything to be like and these will have a prominent role in the big story, so I don't want to change it there. Also to just keep it mysterious i guess lol.
