you were stunned. you felt as if your body was frozen still. your heartbeat was beating rapidly a doctor would've thought such a high heartrate was dangerous.
the phone abruptly hung up leaving you in shock. the phone was still close to your ear left with dead silence after the phone call.
the phone rang again, to which you answered without moving your head but just your thumb to press the green answer button.
" hey (y/n), i've been outside for like five minutes get your ass out here. or i'm driving off" thankfully it was only randy, your anxiety will still spiking and you pondered whether or not you should go to stu's tonight. the previous calls had you on high alert and once you let your guard down the stalker came back just to scare you.
"um yeah" you stuttered letting out a nervous laugh. "i got caught up with my work" you lied. "i'll be out now, sorry" and you then hung up without waiting for his response or before you could even say goodbye. you quickly ran out the door and straight into randy's car.
you explained everything to him with tears as the side of your eyes. he was so focused on you with the same nervous expression on his face that you had on yours. you didn't plan on telling randy about the phone call incident but then you imagined a cut up casey becker and couldn't shake the thought. as long as someone know you should be fine...right?
"shit. do you think we should go to stu's" you breathed out wiping a small tear leaking from your eyes with the corner of your sweater. "like how did he know i was going tonight!" your voice increased in pitch as you became more and more frenzied with nervousness and anxiety.
"i-i-i don't know. maybe we can swing by then leave i don't know." randy stuttered throwing his hands up and slowly swaying from side to side. "maybe it's a prank? i have no idea." randy was never the voice of reason and more expected to be a tin-foil hat conspiracy theorist rather than a rational thinker but his words flew over your head. the calmness in the calls voice sounded more threatening than his words.
and with that you both agreed on and drove the short drive to stu macher's house which was only filled with paranoia and overthinking erupting from the vocals chords of you two. when you arrive you flew out of the car, grabbing the pre-packed duffel bags with sleep clothes, a tooth brush, your portable phone and you've forgotten the rest. you knocked frantically on the door with randy right behind you, his arms around your stomach and chin on your shoulder. if you weren't scared out of your wits then this type of physical attention from randy meeks would've been unwanted and he could've expected a hard kick to the balls. you were far more focused on someone opening the wooden door two millimeters away from your nose and letting you in the house. the warmth of the house, the comfort of the four walls protecting you from whatever and whoever was outside wondering around in the cover of the darkness. the comfort from his warm body was more than welcomed.
