Trans Tommy is genuinely one of my favorite things ever so I have decided it's now a big thing In the story.
ALSO! Tw: gender dysphoria, talks of getting a period, self-hatred, and a lot of crying."Are you sure you're good with me leaving all night Toms?" Phil asked his son while the younger was practically trying to shove him out of the door.
Tommy was more then happy for Phil to leave, "yes Dadza! Now go go, Dream and I have so much we gotta do!"
The boy wanted nothing more then to be able to play games with his older brother figure. Ever since Wilbur started dating this girl Sally he stopped hanging out with Tommy and frankly that upset Tommy. He felt like he was missing that older brother experience and Dream just provided that for him.
"I promise Mr. Minecraft, Tommy is safe in my care! I'll make sure he gets into bed on time and everything." The teen blonde said, walking into room.
Phil looked away for a moment in thought before speaking once more, "okay fine, but make sure to text me every few hours."
With that, and a few more goodbye hugs, the door was shut.
"Alright then Tommy, what do you wanna do?" Dream asked, walking closer to the boy.
Tommy didn't miss a beat, "snacks."
Dream couldn't hold in his laughter at this. Tommy gave the older a death glare as he laughed, which made him laugh slightly more.
"Okay okay, sorry, let's go get you some food." Dream walked over to Tommy and gently placed a hand on his shoulder so he could lead him to the kitchen.
Once they reached the room Dream began to grab the essentials: watermelon, coke, cookies, and even more watermelon.
Once all the items had been grabbed Dream noticed Tommy had already went into the living room so he followed suit. He walked in to see Tommy trying to decide between two moves, Zootopia or lion king. It took a few minutes but Zootopia ended up being the selected movie.
The rest of the time seemed to go on like normal, the two ate snacks, joked around with one another, and even did that weird but strangely loving sibling cuddle.
It was all so perfect until Tommy felt a very sharp pain in his lower abdomen. It cause the boy to grab his stomach and Dream to look at him strangely.
"You good Toms?" He eventually asked.
Tommy only nodded and gave a weak smile, he really was not okay right now.
"I'll be back Dream, just gotta go to my room real quick." Wasting no time, Tommy dashed up to his room without another word.
Dream was certainly not an expert on knowing when kids were lying but something about Tommy's attitude switch made him uneasy.
He had seen Tommy sick a plethora of times and he knew this was nothing like those other times; Tommy would always get extremely clingy and whiny when he was sick, he would never run into another room.
With this, Dream was only led back to his same question. What was wrong with Tommy?
That however, was when he finally noticed it. A few small blood stains right where Tommy was originally sitting.
Dream felt the color drain from his face, was Tommy hurt? Dream spent no time contemplating the question, opting to quickly jump off the couch and run to Tommy's room.
When he entered, he realized that the boy was not in the room but locked up in his bathroom. Small sobs could be heard from the door.
Dream slowly walked up to door and knocked on it gently, "Tommy, if you're hurt then I need you to come out here so I can help you."
Words that were meant kindly only caused louder sobs, Dream had no clue what was going on anymore.
"No! I'm not hurt dickhead." Tommy's words caused the other to grimace, not only would he defiantly be getting in trouble for teaching Tommy...less then positive words but the child was still lying to him.
"Thomas, if you don't come out of that bathroom then I will have to come in there myself. I can't just let you walk around, not knowing if you're hurt or not."
Slowly, the door began to open and Dream got a clear look at Tommy's tear stained face. He looked like a kicked puppy.
The young boy quickly walked up to Dream and entrapped him in a hug. The older returned it but made sure to look at the visible body parts, it seemed like nothing was wrong in those areas.
"Tommy, guppy, where are you bleeding? I'm worried." Tommy hid his face in the fabric covering Dream's stomach.
"Can I tell you a secret?" Tommy eventually mumbled. Dream only silently nodded.
"I wasn't born a boy...Phil was so scared to leave me alone because I was experiencing the beginning symptoms of that thing."
Dream was silent for a moment, he certainly was not expecting that. Worst of all, he had no clue how to deal with the situation at hand.
Considering Tommy's reaction to this whole situation, he could only assume he had no real idea what any of this meant or how to deal with it. Luckily, Dream payed attention in sex ed.
All he had to do now was explain that to Tommy and then call Phil.
"Guppy, I want you to know that what you are experiencing is completely normal. It doesn't make you any less of a boy, in fact, it's just showing that you are healthy." Dream explained as he picked the boy up.
"This just isn't fair...big men don't get periods and they don't cry either." Tommy's words explained a lot to Dream.
He knew Tommy was adopted from a less then happy household and he can only assume these words were drilled into his head from an early age.
Dream wanted to kill the people who hurt his sweet boy but that was for a later date.
"You know, real big men will sob with no shame in the entire world. Crying is perfectly normal Toms and shouldn't be something only one gender can do." Dream walked back into Tommy's bathroom and looked inside the cabinet for any products.
He was pleased to find a multitude of different items, grabbing the one however he felt would be the best for his first period.
"Do you know how to use pads, guppy?" Dream asked, receiving a small nod. He smiled softly and rubbed the boys back.
"I'm gonna grab you some clean pajamas and call Phil okay? Yell for me if you need anything." With that, Dream walked out of the room.
The conversation with Phil went how he expected it to, lots of panic and a promise to be home as soon as possible.
Once the conversation was done, Tommy walked into the room and sat down next to Dream. "I'm sorry for not telling you sooner..." He mumbled softly.
"You are not required to tell me anything of the sort Tommy. I'm sorry the news had to come out before you were comfortable and I promise that I will not tell a single soul." Dream watched as the boy gave a small smile and hid his face in Dream's waist.
It had been a long day for both of them and Dream could imagine that Tommy was ready for a nap. Of course, he supplied such by bringing Tommy to his bed and tucking him in.
Now Dream just had to deal with the mother hen that was Philza Minecraft. This would be fun.
