Ranboo sighed in a pleased manner as he slowly began to open his eyes. He didn't know why, but he woke up feeling oddly well rested. Maybe it was just him, but he always found himself waking up especially drowsy on school days. His dad would try to help with this problem by letting him sleep as long as he possibly could and making him go to bed at a decent time but it never seemed to really do anything.
Ranboo also found it strange how his father had not walked into his room yet to get him up. If there was one thing he knew about the man it is that he was oddly prompt. One would think it was illegal to be late to anything and that heavily applied to things such as school. The young boy got out of his bed and walked over to his door, it was possible he had just woken up early and his dad was just about to walk up stairs and wake him.
He quietly left the room, taking extra care so he would not wake Carrots. Ranboo took the same care walking down the hallway, however, he couldn't help but notice how cold the cabin was today. Of course, the cabin was always cold, they lived in the tundra after all, but today seemed especially worse. Ranboo could only assume that his father thought the same thing since the house already smelled of burning pine wood.
When Ranboo finally made it downstairs, he saw his dad standing over a brewing stand. What was he making now? It didn't matter. Ranboo cleared his throat to signal to his father that he was there. The man quickly turned around to look at his son, giving him a small smile before immediately going back to work. "What are you working on?" Ranboo calmly asked. Without turning around, Techno responded, "Just a few healing potions." He mumbled.
Ranboo was now properly confused. How come his dad had already started working and didn't even get him up for school. Did he wake up that early? Ranboo soon got his answer when he tried to look over at the window and only saw white. "Dad?" Techno stopped what he was doing at his son's voice, turning around to see what was wrong. "Why is the window completley white?" Ranboo asked, obviously concerned.
"Oh, we got snowed in so we won't be able to leave the house today. It's snowing everywhere so school was cancelled today as well." Ranboo stared, surprised at his fathers words. "So..." He eventually responded, "what am I supposed to do today?" Techno shrugged at his sons question, "I don't know bud, just go do something to keep yourself that doesn't involve destroying anything in this household. That does include yourself by the way."
Ranboo pouted slightly, what did that leave to do? He walked away from his father, pondering the question. There already wasn't much to do in the cabin due to the severe lack of toys Ranboo owned. On weekends, the boy would normally wait for Carrots to wake up before going outside and getting into whatever form of trouble he possibly could. If he couldn't make trouble outside though, he would just have to so some shady stuff inside.
Ranboo settled on going into his fathers 'secret' basement. He had only been in there once and Techno had only allowed it since they were in there for less then a minute. Ranboo didn't fully know what was kept down there but he did know his dad kept a lot of his potion materials in a chest there. All in all, it was the perfect place for exploration. Ranboo wasted no time, quickly running upstairs to grab his bunny to join him in this great adventure.
--Time Skip--
Ranbo had been sitting on the stairs for about thirty minutes now, waiting for when his dad would leave for some kind of break. Unfortunetly, the entrance to the basement was not only in the same room as his father but it also made way too much sound for Ranboo to sneak in while his dad was in the same room. What was even worse, he showed absolutely no sign of leaving anytime soon.
