CH.4 birthday pt.1

Edwards POV

Ah Bella. My sweet angel is turning two tomorrow. These past two years have been amazing. I feel more alive.

I love Bella. And she knows it.

Bella started whining in my arms.

"It's okay." I soothed her.

"Edwaaaarrd?"

"Yes, my sweet Bella."

"I'm scared." My dead cold heart stopped.

"Why?"

"Because I don't want to weave you." She whispered. I could tell her cheeks were getting red.

"Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere. I'll stay with you if it takes forever." I said to her.

"Pwomise?" She held out he pinky.

"Pwomise." I agreed in the same voice she used.

When I said that I put her to bed and read her a story. She fell asleep very fast.

I watched Bella sleep as usual. When she opened her eyes, my heart melted. She smiled and waved her tiny hand at me.

"Hi." I said smiling. She started giggling. So cute! "Happy birthday!" I said in my baby voice.

"Come on, let's get you changed." I picked her up with her blanket because today is a cold day. She started shaking.

"It's okay Bella." I said to her. Her teeth were chattering. I hugged her closer and rapping her tighter in the blanket. I was starting to get sad, she looked so helpless and fragile. Well, that's because she is.

"Edward, give her a bath. A warm bath." Alice said to me.

"Okay."

I went into the bathroom, started the water and checked it. It was hard for me to tell because I'm always cold, and everything seems to be hot to me.

"Bella, put your hand under the water." 

She put her hand under the water and kept it there.

"Is it warm?" I asked her.

She nodded her head. I stripped her down and put her in the water. I learned over the past years that she likes bubbles, a lot. I poured in a lot, just how she likes it.

"Fanks." She said to me.

"Your welcome."

I washed her long brown hair. We didn't dare cut it. Alice didn't even want to cut it.

"Come on birthday girl, time to get dressed." I picked out her 'Too cute to handle' shirt, blue jeans and walked downstairs.

"Happy Birthday!" Everyone shouted. Bella was starting to look like she was going to blush.

"Oh Edward, nice shirt you picked out for her." Esme said to me.

"Yeah, I like this shirt too." I agreed.

Rosalie grabbed Bella from my arms, and wished her happy birthday with a kiss on her cheek. Everyone got a chance to wish her happy birthday, even me.

"Edward, you probably know, but I'm inviting the Denali's!" Alice squealed.

"Alice, you know I don't like Tanya. She's going to be all over me."

"Yes, I know, but they want to see Bella for the first time, plus we haven't seen them in about fifteen years. So suck it up mister."

"Fine." I growled.

"Eddie's going to get some." Emmett boomed.

"Emmett?"

"Yes."

"Shut up!" I yelled at him. "Come on Bella, let's go get you some food."

Bella just started giggling.

I fed Bella her food, which is disgusting. I wonder how it would taste like as a human? I'll never get that chance anymore. I was changed 75 years ago. (By the way, it's 1993, I did the calculations.)

"Esme, what are we doing for her birthday?" I asked Esme as she was walking downstairs. Esme doesn't like to use vampire speed unless she really has to.

"Anything you want to do, honey. Take her on a stroll in the park. She loves that."

"Thanks Esme." I said kissing her on the cheek.

I waited until Bella woke up from her nap. Even when she's sleeping she looks adorable.

I waited for a good hour until she woke up.

"Hi Bella." I said in my baby-like voice. She waved at me.

"Do you want to go for a walk?"

She shook her head.

"No?" She shook her head again. Now I really wish I could read her mind.

I picked her up and brought her downstairs. Everyone was staring at us.

"She doesn't want to go on a walk."

"She doesn't?" Rosalie asked.

"No, I asked her and she shook her head." I explained.

"Okay, well, we can... I don't know. She usually likes walks." Alice said.

"I know. It's weird."

Instead of keeping up a conversation, me and Bella were playing with baby's. She likes to play with them, and I like to make her happy, so therefore I will play baby's with Bella.

It was a good two hours before someone decided to speak up.

"The Denali's will be here soon." Alice announced.
