Haven't Met Yet

We haven't met yet,
But I'm your aunty.
I just found out about you today.
You'll be here in July or August,
And your parents and I are awaiting that moment.

You'll be the first to call me "Aunty",
Which is already making me smile.
We haven't met yet,
But I already love you,
And I know your parents do too.

I'm going to spoil you,
Because what aunty doesn't?
I can't wait to meet you,
To hold you for the first time,
To maybe see you smile,
Perhaps you'll have your father's eyes.

If you're anything like your father,
I know you'll be okay,
And if not,
That's okay too,
I'll love you either way.

I know your dad is excited,
I've known him my whole life,
I'm glad you'll be the next baby he holds and connects deeply with,
It's a special thing.

We both hope you're born in July,
Like your dad,
Because like mine we are born a few days apart,
And we like traditions around here,
But if not that's alright too,
But we are anxious for your arrival.

You'll be my parents first grandbaby,
The first great grand baby,
And the first great great grand baby,
So you'll be extra special,
Which is kind of fun.

We haven't met yet,
But I know you'll be great.
We haven't met yet,
But I know I can't wait to hold you.
We haven't met yet,
But I already love you.

Thank you for making me an aunty,
Thank you for making my big brother so happy,
Thank you,
For being you,
Even though you're not here yet.

Now you take your time and become that beautiful baby I know you will be,
But don't put your mama through what I did to mine,
It's not nice,
And maybe come in July,
It would keep a tradition alive.

I can't wait to meet you,
Little JGB 3....
Coming to the world soon.
(Hopefully not too soon)
