So I have a weird question. Do people always assume the worst from people like me? I get it, I'm a selfish prick. Who's not though? You can't tell me you give and give without expecting anything. Everything you do for people around you is for something. A paycheck, someone's appreciation, love. If you didn't get any of this, would you do anything? Answer carefully, because before you know it, you're making excuses about boundaries and shit.  Boundaries are just the new way of saying self preservation. It's a self saving or fixing thing. If you think about it, again, is anything you do for anyone really about them?
Anyway, so I've been meaning to get to the point. You're allowed to be selfish when something is hurting you. I refuse to put up with it and thus I must be egotistical and selfish. I wouldn't call it selfishness, but according to the bottom line, isn't it? I just don't see how I'm considered more selfish than most because I won't put up with it for a minute. I don't get how others are somehow better than me for putting up with disrespect and unnecessary punishment. Maybe it's not for me to understand, but one thing people should understand is if you're calling someone selfish for not tolerating constant degration, you should reevaluate yourself
