So here I was. Again. Cut to the present. Back frm my daydreaming of the past.

"Father, its always like this. You never think of me responsible enough to handle myself in public."

"Well my dear daughter, Are you? Are you responsible enough as you should be? Surely you can't say yes after that stunt you pulled"

"That was years ago and you promised that I could finally go to the fair this year even if you had to accompany me yourself."

"Now I can't. As simple as that. After all I'm a king and I have duties more important than accompanying you to a mere fair."

"Fine." I said that and began to storm off towards my room so that he couldn't see my tears. I didn't want another lecture about being a crybaby.

"Don't forget there's the most important annual ball tomorrow and you need to present your best self"

"Yes father. I know."

I again started walking towards my room.

"Well well well, if it isn't my favourite sister"

Anthony. Gaah, just around 14 steps were left but obviously my brother had to come and show me his face. Guess now I have to throw holy water on myself today before sleeping.

"Yes, considering I am your only sister"

"Aw, don't speak so sadly. You know that even if I had 50 sisters, you would have still atleast been the 49th on my list."

"Thank you for such an honour. I truly am delighted that you deem me so worthy. Now if you may allow, I would like to go to my room to get some sleep"

I started walking and his hand stopped me.

"I just wanted to tell you to sleep well so that you don't have dark circles tomorrow and the poor makeup artist wouldn't have to apply twice the makeup"

"How kind of you to think about everyone. Now if you may allow, I would like to follow your orders. So move!"

"Good night dear sister"

I didn't bother replying

I shut my door and changed into my night apparel. I hadn't applied makeup because deep down I already knew that father wouldn't let me go to the fair.

I opened a novel not bothering to read the name and started reading.

Soon I drifted off to sleep because the next thing I knew, there were three servants waking me up.

"Wake up. Princess Adora please wake up, its already late"

I checked the time and it was 8 a.m. for god's sake.

"Yea, I am awake. You all can leave now. Switch off the lights now.

"But-"

" 🎵Wakeeee upppp dearrr Adoraaaa, Wakeee uppp Princessss🎵 "

I immediately woke up after hearing my bestfriend  Jude and her chipper voice.

"Judie, you're finally here! Yay."

The maids all had a stunned look as to how quickly I woke up as to compared to 5 mins ago

"You all are dismissed."

They all left the room.

"Damn Adora, still dismiss your maids? Truly the princess"

"These all are new. I still have to have to THE TALK with them about behaving normally around me but be certain its gonna be the same level of difficult as always"

THE TALK, where I had to convince maids hired to take care of me to not take care of me. Well, to atleast not curtsy around me. I absolutely hated it!

"Anyway, tell me what are you wearing tonight? I was thinking about a gown"

"Are you sure you'll be coming tonight? I heard the advisor's not feeling well today."

Jude is the daughter of my father's advisor and my best friend.

"Ofcourse I'll be coming. Can't miss a chance to gawk at some hotties."

"Shhh. Someone will listen to you." God. This girl. She frightens ne sometimes being so carelessly outspoken but I love her for it.

"Did you forget darling that you already dismissed them all"

"Oh yea. Crap I had to tell them which dress I would be wearing.

"First tell me atleast"

I smirked. "You'll see, Now go I have to get ready for the day"

"Ugh fine. Be all mysterious you want. At the end of the day you're gonna ask my opinion for the dress, I just know ittt!"

"You wishhh, Now go see you later!"

I was already tired and I had yet to enter the ball room.

I knew this was a very important event for our kingdom Genovia. Everyone is gonna be here. Royals travel from all around the world. Even our rival kingdoms' people. And that meant one thing- The Meanies are gonna be here.

And just as that thought crossed my mind, something caught my sight or rather someone. Jason. The leader of the meanies or so I like to call him.

"Adora." He curtsied. He knew I hated it.

I bowed down in return. After all he was the prince of our rival kingdom, Eldora. We went ages back.

"Jason"

"I see you are looking somewhat toreable today princess."

"How nice of you to say that."

And with that he left the room and went towards the ball room. Like always. Out conversations were always short lived but even in them he aggravated me.

I started self doubting myself and looked in the mirror. I was wearing a dress I loved.

I immediately brushed any negative thoughts from my mind and gave myself a quick boost of confidence.
