.It had always been like this...
Always...
I knew I shouldn't have trusted him, that he would break my trust again. No I'm not talking about my lover or anything but MY FATHER!
Gosh he truly drives me nuts. I understand that there is a great deal of responsibility driving on my shoulders but it doesn't mean that sometimes can't I just forget about it all, because why not?
I have wanted to see the fair for the longest time, I have also wanted to see him for the longest time.
Who, you ask? I don't know either. Well I don't know his name but I remember exactly what colour of shirt he was wearing, the number of his stall, his accent, his smile, his eyes, the colour of the curtains of his stall for god's sake.
I was 14 when I had last visited the fair. I absolutely loved the fair and the chill, relaxing vibe there and it was also there that I had met a kind boy around my age who had not completely freaked out about me being a princess and helped me.
Even then it was not my father but Mary, my lady in waiting ever since I was born, who had allowed and helped me in escaping the castle
to go see the fair and eat all the junk that my heart desired. It was then that I saw him helping his mother sell the items from their stall.
There were not much people willing to buy handmade decorative items but his smile didn't waver and he was constantly trying to attract customers with his vibrant spirit.
I wanted to buy every item present there just to see him smile but I couldn't or else everyone would recognise me or my voice and speaking with a mask on and a long cape over my head would have been too weird.
But Me being Me, I went to buy an item or two not trying to raise much suspicion.
He was wearing a abstract element patterned blue kaftan type shirt and beige trousers. His black hair were loosely falling and had a ruffled look. His skin tone was white and he had a cute dimple and my teen heart and jaw both were on the floor.
"See anything you want to buy yet?"
"No, was just seeing around your stall to see if there is a way to steal it all without getting caught" Stupid, stupid, Stupid Adorra. Why the hell would you try to be funny and scare him? "Haha sorry I was j-"
*-Being funny. Well if you do intend to seriously follow through with your plan then I can just close my eyes and then try to look robbed and extremely sad."
Huh well this took a good turn. "Only if you agree to be the Clyde to my Bonnie"
He laughed. Wholeheartedly. Adorably. Charmingly. And I didn't know how to breathe coz whooos that sound of his laugh.
Damn.
"So let me get this straight, you want me to help you rob my stall, as if closing my eyes and letting you steal everything wasn't enough. You certainly are demanding." He smirked and his dimple made an appearance.
"Forgive me but people tell me I have rather a habit of wishing for more things once I get what I wished for already. Call me greedy but don't tell me my plan isn't good, you surely must have considered it."
"Can't say I haven't because who would not if its coming from such a gorgeous lady". He smiled his boy grin.
Lady. Gorgeous . His dimple. I didn't know at that age but my ovaries were certainly bursting with happiness. "Well now you are just flatter-"
"Search every corner for the princess. We must find her as soon as possible and see to it that if there is anyone helping her they are brought to the castle too."
I froze.
I could already hear what all my father had to say about me almost becoming a lady even though I was only 14 and still not taking anything seriously.
I bent down and put my mask back on and went behind the stall.
"Wait, why are you hiding? Wha- Don't tell me, You are the princess?" He was looking shell shocked.
"Shhh. No need to get your panties in a bunch. I am a princess not a criminal"
"Okay woah, First of all can you even say such things you know being a princess and all!?
And secondly, Are you really the princess ,Wait what was the name? Adorra! ador-"I put my hand on his mouth to shush him because Man! He really could speak nonstop, even more than me.
However I did like the fact that he first asked me if I can say such language rather than panicking on me being a princess.
"Yes I am her. Adorra. Now can you please not scream and tell everyone and rather let me focus on the situation at hand so that my father doesn't eat me alive with his screams and scoldings"
"Wow, Guess its the same for royals too.
By the way, I am sorry I didn't recognise you princess, I am new to this country. Forgive me.""Yeah unfortunately, we don't get to have a free pass on this even If I wish so bad to have it rather than people curtsying around me all the time.
And please, no need to say sorry. It was actually quite refreshing someone talking to me normally"He smiled and his dimple made a light appearance.
"Well you can escape from here. I am pretty sure no one recognized you with that long cape and my mother is on a break right now so you should go before she comes."
"Thank you so much for all your help. I'll see you later"
I didn't. For almost 9 years now and still no sign of him. Only if I hadn't been in such a hurry to to reach the castle and and only if I had even asked his name. But I didn't.
I don't know why but the sight of his smile often brightened up my mood in the past. I had felt normal for the first time like someone isn't just helping ir talking to me so that they can gain a favour with my dad.
So I had been really looking forward to the visiting the fair. I hadn't been able too since then and I knew there was no chance of seeing him again but a girl can hope, right?
Mary was the one who helped me at that time but now she wasn't here too and I had no one to rely on in the help of the castle.
So here I was. Again. Cut to the present. Back from my daydreaming of the past.
