The force that took me was expected. My opponent had the advantage from the start, that I knew the moment their presence became known seconds after mine to them. Instead I braced for impact, as they slammed me into the closet, tearing open the useless wooden doors with my tensed back.
Items fell onto us that was once neatly stacked and dusted over from the top shelf, earning something large to bounce off the apple of my right cheek just as items loosely hit the head of my intruder. I used the opportunity to obscurely swing my sword against their elbows, slicing clean their grip from my shoulders followed by me kicking square into their stomach so that I could freely run out into the hall way.
Shit shit shit where was Tengen?
My torch was long forgotten behind me, as I struggled to avoid broken debris scattered on the pitch black floor. I knew I wouldn't be able to outrun the demon, but it would also be a disadvantage for me to fight in such conditions. I recalled the entrance of the temple housed a foyer birthing a staircase, the perfect landscape for me to calculate how I was going to take down my unanticipated target. The ceiling had broken to pieces, allowing room for the crescent light to pour in.
I rushed myself forward to my chosen destination, as the persistent footsteps echoed behind me.
Finally arriving, I didn't hesitate to ascend half way onto the stair case with a calculated leap. I landed perfectly upon the railing, poising my feet to balance my already bruised body on the foreign surface. I thanked Tengen-Sensei for familiarizing myself with flimsy roof tiles during training, finding that I could put it to work now with my new found strength and ability.
"Ah, so you're a member of the corps."The demon said, voice raspy yet cunning. They inhaled soundly. "I recognized that annoyingly rich smell. You must be a Hashira, how delicious you are going to taste."
They were perched just by the foot of the staircase, eyes glowing red as they set their gaze upon me.
She must have picked up the scent of Tengen, wherever the hell he may be.
The moon was beaming through the large gap in the ceiling where stone once was, yet I could only make their silhouette. It seemed the limbs that was once amputated off thanks to me, had fully regenerated during their chase here.
Shit that was fast. They are definitely high ranking.
I raised my sword and pointed as if it was my index finger, directing the edge of my blade towards the demon. "You flatter me, but your senses are all wrong. I am not even close to a Hashira, which tells me that you will be easy to kill."
A glowing grin manifested on the head of the dark figure. Their teeth sharp like an apex creature, sending shivers down my spine as I gripped my handle tighter.
"Oh?" They coaxed their head from the side. "Well, still can't put food to waste."
I pushed my feet off of the railing, the demon closing the gap within a simple second, before predicting my very movement and snapping their body back to reach me. Before I can land back on my feet, they swiveled their leg underneath me so that I would fall on my back once amore.
"Heh, of course you're not a Hashira. You're too slow and weak."
I reached out for my sword as they towered menacingly on top of my pathetic heap. Though my hand came back empty as I looked around for my weapon, noting it had landed a few feet away out of reach.
The demon grabbed my neck hastily, not giving myself enough time to panic. I could feel hot air coming from their mouth paired with saliva dripping on my now exposed face. I didn't know when my facial cloth had fell off but it didn't matter now since the disgusting liquid had already violated me. Gross.
