99% of the planet conquered, now; the past was no better than Silver's future; maybe he finally had a chance to save it.

As Shadow brought the white hedgehog into Resistance H.Q., Silver noticed familiar faces and a few new ones as well.

It seemed like Knuckles was the one orchestrating the group's affairs. Silver wasn't surprised – Knuckles had all the qualities of a leader, at least, from the limited interactions he thought so.

Nonetheless, this was no time to reminisce. Silver introduced himself to those he hadn't met and said his hellos to those he had already seen before. He turned to see the hedgehog who had brought him here, but he was already gone.

Well, that's just like Shadow, isn't it?

The war raged on for months. Still no sign of Sonic.

The Resistance was growing weary. They'd barely been able to regain any territory, and were struggling to defend what little they had.

Silver was on a mission to track down any refugees that had been left behind from the attacks. As he was flying through the trees, he noticed Shadow brooding over a lake. The white hedgehog floated down to him, seemingly disturbing the other's peace.

"We really need to stop meeting like this," Silver remarked. An annoyed grunt from the other. "I haven't seen you since you brought me here. What have you been doing?"

"Nothing of your concern," replied the agent.

Silver hummed. "Ah. Secretive as always."

"Hmph. What do you need from me, Silver? It's strange you're so far away from H.Q."

Silver let out a sigh, peering up at the sun. The rays barely broke past the thick leaves of the trees – not that there was much of it anyways. The sky was full of smog most days, and a frown made its way onto the hedgehog's lips. The world was much less decimated than the last time Silver had visited this timeline.

"I'm searching for anyone who may be leftover from local attacks from Eggman's Robo-minions," he explained, "Chaotix is searching as well -- I just decided to go on my own."

"That so?"

"It is so."

A fleeting grin flashed on Shadow's face at that comeback, "You won't find anyone here - I already looked."

"Eh?" Silver tilted his head a bit, "Are you searching for refugees as well?"

"You can think whatever you'd like," the agent scoffed, "I'm simply giving out tips. I've got to go now."

Before Silver could say anything, Shadow teleported away.

Just what goes on in that hedgehog's mind?
