The Next Morning:

I was cuddled up on the couch with a cup of coffee watching Klaus paint when Stefan walked in.

"So much for a quiet morning." I sighed, taking a sip of my coffee.

"It looks like a giant snow flake." Stefan commented, ignoring me.

"I prefer to think of it as an expression of post-modernism." Klaus corrected. "It's my donation to the winter wonderland charity event."

"You said it was urgent?" Adrian asked waking in.

I glared daggers at him making him shiver under my gaze.

"Yes. Take this to the Mystic Grill immediately." Klaus instructed.

"You want me to be a delivery guy?" Adrian scoffed.

"What he wants is for you do to whatever he says without the attitude!" I snapped.

Adrian gulped and nodded before picking up the painting.

"Be careful with that." Klaus added. "It's still wet."

"Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves you know?" Stefan stated.

"What is the point of my hybrids being sired to me if I can't maximize on the benefits of free labor?" Klaus frowned.

"Being a decent non-human being." I pointed out making Klaus roll his eyes. "So Stef, what are you doing here?"

"Elena is sired to Damon." Stefan sighed.

"That's it?" Klaus asked, already knowing the situation.

"Which means I need to find the cure now more than ever, and yet here you are making post-modern snowflakes." Stefan added.

"I've delivered." Klaus smirked. "I retrieved the hunters sword from Italy, which we'll use to decipher the map hidden in the hunters mark. You're the one who's supposed to deliver the hunter and his mark."

"Yeah, well it's kind of hard when Jer is the hunter with the mark and we have to keep him from killing them, including Jenna."

"What a chore for them, which is why I felt obligated to do some charity work." Klaus said, now it was my turn to roll my eyes.

"Or maybe you're lying about having found the sword." Stefan frowned.

"Why would I lie to you Stefan?" Klaus frowned.

"He found it." I assured as Klaus walked over to the side of the room and grabbed the sword from the safe.

"The hilt acts as a sooner which we'll use to decode the marks on Jeremy's tattoo when he's killed enough vampires to complete it." Klaus said as Stefan picked up the sword to look at it. "I heard you moved out of your house. Bit of a martyr move, hmm?"

"Babe." I frowned shaking my head.

"I'm not here to bond, Klaus." Stefan stated, putting the sword down.

"Oh, on the contrary, I think right now I'm the best friend you've got." Klaus smirked.

Stefan rolled his eyes and left.

"Are you planning to go to the winter wonderland charity love?" Klaus asked, sitting next to me on the couch.

"I have to for a little while since I'm a part of the founding families. But I'm more concerned about the full moon tonight." I sighed. "It's my first one before I have control over my turning. Is it as bad as everyone says?"

"It isn't called a curse for nothing, love." Klaus said gently pulling me to him. "But I'll be there every step of the way."

I smiled and kissed him passionately.
