The soft hair of his moustache tickled your nose.
His lips were soft, so completely unexpectedly tender as if he was afraid that too much hardness could break everything. He tasted exactly as you expected, like peppermint and toothpaste. But there was something else.
The distant taste of pancakes.
Your heart was beating wildly in your chest.
He didn't kiss you back, but he didn't push you away or fight back either. He just let it happen, let the new taste of your lips melt on his tongue.
When he still didn't react, you pulled away. Your eyes opened a crack to look at him.
Your gazes met.
His lips were open a crack, he exhaled deeply. He seemed surprised but not shocked. Just a bit unsure about what had just happened.
You leaned back, wanting to say something. Suddenly, you felt like this had been a great mistake. You wanted to apologise but didn't know how without making this more awkward and wrong than it already was.
Unsure, you wanted to take a step back.
It looked like he was about to get angry, when suddenly his arms wrapped around your waist and pulled you back to his chest.
His eyes closed as he pressed his lips to yours.
This kiss was so completely different, so hungry and demanding.
Out of reflex, you raised your arms and wrapped them around his neck. He had grown so tall that you had to stand on your tiptoes to kiss him properly.
Holding you tightly, Marcus leaned down into the kiss. While one of his hands was on your back the other moved up to bury itself in your neck. It felt like he was trying to prevent you from slipping away, as if he feared that one inch too much space might make you run away.
Hungrily, he pressed you against him, pressed into your taste and the scent that was so new yet familiar to him.
His mouth opened.
Carefully he let his tongue stroke over your lips.
You let it happen, opened your mouth carefully and allowed him to enter. When the tip of his tongue met yours, a cold shiver chased down your spine.
Gasping, you tilted your head to catch your breath.
At first he didn't want to part from you, his hand pressed into your neck, trying to keep you with him as long as possible.
But as the air began to burn in his lungs he had to break the kiss. A red glow had spread across his face.
Breathing heavily, you closed your eyes to let your head fall against his chest.
With a sigh, he pressed his lips to the top of your hair.
"Marcus...", his name suddenly tasted so sweet.
His arms wrapped tighter around you.
You could feel the muscles of his chest moving under his uniform. The beat of his heart filled your ears. With a smirk, you pressed against it. It felt good to know that the kiss was making him nervous.
The thought made warmth rise in your head.
"Now you are not allowed to leave me again.", he whispered. "Promise."
There was that trembling in his voice, that fear of a little boy that his first love might disappear again.
You shook your head. Your hands rose to his face.
With a deep sigh, he leaned into the touch. How he longed to be touched. All at once he was so soft, so trusting. It was obvious that he was starving for the touch.
"This time we'll both take care of the problems you cause.", you smirked.
Marcus rolled his eyes, but couldn't help a relieved smirk.
"I missed you.", he pressed a kiss to your lips again. "So incredibly missed you..."
You kissed him.
"Don't worry.", you smirked against his lips. "This promise is the last I'll give you."
"May it be your strongest."
You chuckled, giving him a gentle bump against the shoulder.
"Now, can we finally stop fighting and leave this hole, grumpy?", you rolled your eyes. "This place sucks."
Chuckling, he playfully pushed you off him.
"What, you don't enjoy yelling at me anymore?", he asked, crossing his arms in front of his chest. "Strange, usually you love making me go insane."
You laughed.
"Please. You wouldn't win a real fight against me."
"That's what you think."
"You couldn't back then and you can't now, grumpy."
"You're really going for it, aren't you?"
"What? Are you trying to prove me wrong?", you smirked.
He leaned towards you, placing a kiss on your forehead.
"Let's get out of here so I can prove you wrong."
Raising an eyebrow, you eyed him.
"In what way?", you asked with a dirty undertone.
He smirked, placing a finger on his lips.
"I'll show you when we're back up again.", he promised with a smirk.
Groaning with relief, you climbed out of the shaft back into the fresh air and stretched.
Behind you followed Marcus. When he climbed out of the hole, he immediately wrapped his arms around you and pulled you closer.
"What, are we affectionate all of a sudden?", you asked, stroking his short, dark hair.
He shrugged, curling his lips.
"It's your fault.", he said reproachfully. "I didn't have a chance to love you then. Now I have some catching up to do."
With a shake of your head you suppressed a laugh.
"We are a little older than we were then.", you reminded him, pressing your backside against his pelvis. "Let's skip the embarrassing sweet talking phase, shall we?"
Surprised, he blushed.
"That was quick. I don't remember you being easy."
With a grin, you turned to him, arms wrapping around his neck and pressed a hungry kiss to his lips.
"I'm not.", tenderly, you bit his lower lip. "But I've waited so long, I'm starting to get impatient. Besides... the shower accident promised a lot. Now I want to know if my little grumpy just grew up or... If he became a man too."
A shaky breath escaped Marcus. Your words made him tremble with excitement. His lips pressed on yours.
"Let me show you something...", he whispered in your ear and pulled you with him.
