Freia is nervous. Sirius can tell by the shaking of her leg against the train seat. Laura places a hand over her knee, and it stops.
"Is your mum coming to get you, Moony?" Sirius asks, looking away from the girls who are now whispering with one another.
Remus, who was peering out the window, turns his head with a slanted smile. "Nah, she doesn't like coming into the wizard areas too much and it takes a lot of time to get here from Wales, so I'll just apparate."
"Us too," Sirius says, "we can come with you to the apparition station."
"Actually, I think mum's planning on surprising you," James says, causing Sirius to start.
"What?"
James just shrugs and raises a brow as if to say, you'll see.
Upon spotting Fleamont and Euphemia at the train station Sirius throws himself into their arms. They hug him back fiercely already asking how he is and how the train back was. James is part of the hug too; a kiss being pressed against the top of his head by his mother.
By the time they break apart, Fleamont and Euphemia are peering past the boys. Sirius glances back and isn't surprised to see that they're looking at Freia, who trots forward with her hand out.
"Hi Mr and Mrs Potter, I'm Freia, it's lovely to meet you."
Fleamont bats her hand away and draws her into a hug too, pulling away so that Euphemia can take his place.
"Lovely to meet you too, Freia. We've been very interested in meeting Sirius' girlfriend, we've heard good things," Euphemia says with a wide smile.
Freia stammers a little while Sirius cuts in. "It's not like that."
Euphemia waves him off. "Sure honey, perhaps it's not quite there yet but it's a good sign you're meeting her mother, yes? And she's coming back to ours after Christmas."
"Mum," Sirius whines, "it's complicated. We're not dating. It's not like that."
"Are you messing the girl around Sirius because if so, we'll be having words," Fleamont informs him, sternly.
Sirius groans - apparently, they can't see sense.
"Dad, they're not together," James tells him.
Fleamont and Euphemia seem to ponder this for a moment before dismissing it.
"Well, either way we're very excited to have you over, Freia," Euphemia says, "it's nice that the boys are finding more intellectual friends, perhaps it will stop them getting detentions every week."
Sirius and James groan while Freia laughs. "I doubt I could do that even if I tried," she confides, making Euphemia tut in a what can you do, sort of manor.
They talk for a while longer before exiting the station together. Sirius stops dead at the sight of his beloved motorbike in a spot near the back of the station.
"You brought her?" He says, running forwards and stroking a hand down the lengths of it in a caress.
"I told them to," James says, "I thought it'd be good for the mission."
"Brilliant," Sirius breathes before grabbing Freia's hand and pulling her towards the bike. "Freia, meet Elvendork!"
Freia smiles, amused, looking at the bike like someone might a toy a toddler has thrust upon them.
"How are we getting it to the New Forest? Shrinking it?" she asks.
"Or we could fly it," he replies.
