Background:
Ryo D. Y/n, a kid live in east blue with Luffy as he wanted to become a marine while Luffy want to become a pirate. They meet Shanks and Luffy complaining about wanted to join Shanks crew so he stab himself under his left eye leaving a scar.
They then went in the bar as Shanks bought them juice and drink it while Shanks making fun of Luffy then some bandits came in and make fun of Shanks then leave. Y/n and Luffy was not happy about it as Luffy yell at Shanks as he just smile.
Luffy then take 2 fruits out of a chest as he give one to Y/n and eat it. Shanks saw what they were eating and ask them to spit it out but Luffy hand stretch while Y/n body become extremely hot, he explain to them that they ate the devil fruit known as Gomu Gomu no mi and Taiyo Taiyo no mi as Luffy is a rubber man and Y/n is a sun man now also remove the ability to swim.
They went to fight the bandits that make fun of Shanks but get beat up as Shanks save them and the leader escape kidnapping Y/n and Luffy as they were on the ocean and was going to throw them in there until a sea king show up and ate him dropping both of them.
Y/n and Luffy were having trouble as they lost the ability to swim as the Sea king saw them and went after them until Y/n glare at it intensely making him flee and Shanks was behind them seeing it all as he was amazed by it.
He then carry them back to the island as Shanks was going to leave and Luffy saying he will become a pirate king in the future while Y/n will become the Marine that protect the D. Shanks then give his hat to Luffy and tell them to never give up as they started to leave and couples of days Garp came and bring them to Dadan to take care of them.
Y/n got along with Ace pretty well while Luffy having trouble because of his altitude eventually they met Sabo but reveal that he is a girl which shocked him. After that they made a vow to become brothers even if Y/n was going to be a Marine which they respected his wish.
Till the Age of 14 Garp came and pick him up to join the Marine and he getting through the ranks pretty fast as he was the youngest Vice Admiral at the age of 16.
