(Aaron's P.O.V)

The strange elf River had brought us to a bedroom in zir cabin. The bedroom was small -compared to mine anyway- it contained a bunk bed, a small desk and a dresser.

"There's only two beds so y'all can figure that out yourselves. I'm leaving." River said bluntly, shutting the door as he left.

"Well ze seem nice..." Arlo mumbled, clasping his hands together.

"Yeah, sooo nice." I replied.

Annabella shook her head and focused on something else. "Who will go with who?"

"I would say boys with boys and girls with girls but I don't think Arlo and Aaron met before this so that would be pretty awkward haha..." Ash said, fidgeting with their hands a bit.

"I can share a bed with you if you're okay with it, Ash." I replied with a smile.

"Yeah sure! Remember when we had sleepovers when we were younger? It would be like that!" She smiled.

"Yeah that was always fun!"

"Prince Arlo? Would you be alright with that?" Annabella asked politely.

"Oh? Yeah sure, but could you possibly empty your pockets?" Arlo asked.

"I'm afraid I do not have pockets on this dress, why?" Annabella asked.

"Because I believe you stole my heart." He said, beginning to laugh.

"Arlo, That is not how you should be talking to royalty! I mean- Prince Arlo- fuck! Wait no- I-." She scrambled, covering her mouth with the slip up.

"Annie, I'm fine with you just saying Arlo." He laughed, "I have known you for years. I'd probably consider you one of my closest friends he said.

"Well I'll call you Arlo then I suppose.."

Sometimes I can't help but think the teachings of being a royal are so stupid. To make someone believe they must have to be so formal and proper constantly.

Annabella seemed to be the kind of person who was constantly told of what was needed for her to do as a royal. Because of that, I would've assumed that Arlo would be quite similar but he wasn't.

Within the time I had known Arlo, he already seemed a bit annoying to me if I was honest. All he did was make snarky remarks and show off his wealth and relationships. It seemed as though he was just never told how to be humble.

Ash motioned me toward her as she and Arlo had finished setting out our supplies.

"Are you okay? You seem pretty quiet." She whispered.

"Yeah I am. Thanks for asking." I smiled.

"Of course. Anyways I set out sleepwear for us if you would like to go to bed now."

"Alright. Thank you Ash."

I looked at the sets of clothes she had set out and picked up an undershirt and a pair of loose pants. After, I had walked to the bathroom -which I had discovered was down the hallway from us- to get changed.

As I opened the door, I was greeted by a large collection of plants and paintings.

Kinda reminds me of Arlo's room.

I stared at myself in the mirror, taking in my shoulder-length brown and red hair. It was a complete mess, strands of it sticking in every direction.

I should've seen if Ash had a hairbrush...

Once I had gotten changed, I walked back to our room. Ash was already sitting on the bottom bunk of the bed so I quickly slipped in beside them and turned so my back was facing her. I hope I don't make her feel uncomfortable.

About 10 minutes later, she had stopped talking to Arlo, who was on the top bunk with Annabella and got into the bed and moved closer to me. Her warmth was comforting and slowly lulled me to a nice peaceful sleep.
