"I have secret knowledge I can share with you if you think you are ready for it."
It had been less than an hour since he started to converse with the voice on the radio. The device told him that his name was Maxwell, not sparing any other details besides his name. Wilson, despite his suspicions, had been rubbed the right way and decided to listen to what it had to say. It told him that it could help him, help him out with the experiment he had caused. Give him the forbidden knowledge to properly look after it, the ability to know how to do things correctly without fail.
But only if he did something for the voice in return.
He tried to look at this from a logical perspective because this wasn't the most trustworthy deal, but for once, he did what felt right. Wilson chose to do something that his heart wanted, just one time.
Besides, if it's a scam nothing too bad would happen, it's just a disembodied voice from a radio! According to science, a silly little radio probably couldn't do any harm! Hahahaha!
It took a lot of thinking, hard thinking. Either way... Wilson knew... that whatever he decided on would be the right thing to do.
He's never made a bad decision in his life.
Without any further hesitation, Wilson nodded and smiled at the radio in his palms. Agreeing to the conditions with the shake of his head. The tone of the voice on the other end was smiling, it was as if Wilson could feel the radio beaming.
"Okay then!"
He couldn't take it back now, it began with a rumble. Instantly, white lightning flashed from outside of the window, illuminating the room whole with a bang. Visions and equations sunk into his mind, filling his brain with things he never knew before, prophecies, scribbles, diagrams, and words that taunted him.
The knowledge was on the brink of overwhelming him, but it couldn't. Wilson kept holding on, he felt like he was being weighed down, yet floating at the same time... every second that passed made him stronger... strength which came and went like waves... it kept getting stronger and stronger... and stronger.
He clenched his eyes shut... and when they opened.
Wilson felt brighter than he ever had before.
It felt great .
He looked back at the figure dozing off at the bench and grinned, the radio still being held in his grasp. No time could be wasted dawdling around, it was time to start construction.
This was going to be perfect.
It had to be perfect.
'Maxwell' continued to help him out. Words of encouragement said to keep him going, words of flattery about his work. Wilson acted like his charm didn't flatter him but oh boy it did . No one ever says anything nice about something he makes, Wilson couldn't pinpoint a time he had been praised for his scientific discoveries since he was a kid, and that time was out of pity. This was so exciting! Someone was actually interested in his work! And it wasn't his mother! And so far... this contraption was looking quite fine! Not to brag-
"Excellent work, Higgsbury."
Wilson jumped and squeaked, startled by the sudden noise.
"O-Oh, thank you!" Wilson calmed himself, and politely thanked Maxwell in the most gentlemanly manner possible. He hasn't talked to an actual person for so long.
Wilson took hold of a wooden board while he spoke to him, multitasking to get things done.
"I'll get it done as soon as possible," Wilson said, focusing his attention on his work, the radio laughed.
