The billboard switches back to its normal advertisement.
The sounds of Archer Square were filled with the speaking of the citizens.
"He set off the bomb?"
"Damn terrorist,"
"You're the reason we're all here,"
I stand there dumbfounded. All I remember from that day is going to work and then being told to open a damn bomb. George had said that only I could deliver that package. Why? For who?
Suddenly, I remember Trish. I turned towards her, and her glare was menacing.
"Trish, I-"
"Stop, Cole. I don't want to see you ever again, is that clear?"
"I didn't-"
Trish turns and walks away without another word.
I turned to Zeke and he was worried for me. I could somehow tell. Maybe because we're such good friends.
He walks over to me.
"Hey, Cole. I know you probably don't want to talk right now, but we need to get outta here. We can go to Stampton Bridge and get the hell outta town,"
"Sure. Thanks for being here, man,"
"No problem, Cole. I'll meet you there,"
The citizens are beginning to get more riled up and start to gather around me.
"We're not letting you leave you damn terrorist!"
"Do you know how many people died from you?!"
They start enclosing around me.
Damn. I don't want to hurt anyone but they're not giving me a choice.
"I got the food down isn't that enough,"
"We wouldn't have needed the food if you didn't bomb us!"
The civilians start to pick up nearby objects. They're gonna beat me to death. Great.
Suddenly, bullets started to ring out from around us. More Reapers had surrounded us.
The crowd's formation around me starts to weaken from the barrage of bullets. I take advantage of this and cut through the crowd and dash down the street. The Reapers start to focus their fire on me. But I manage to dash out of site.
As I'm making my way to Stampton Bridge, people all around are throwing rocks at me out of anger.
Looks like the broadcast was all around the Neon District.
At this point I don't care anymore. I just need to get to Stampton Bridge. It takes a minute, but I get there.
When I get there, Zeke's standing there.
I step next to him. He looks at me and says.
"Stampton Bridge, the fastest way out of town. That is, if you can get us past those baton-wielding goons,"
Up ahead riot cops are waiting for the first idiot to make their move. As well as many civilians that want to leave Empire City, protesting as to why they're being caged like dogs.
I speak.
"We're getting out of here, one way or another. Follow my lead,"
As we start walking forward, someone threatens over a loudspeaker,
"You have entered a restricted area. Lethal force may be used at any time. Please return to your homes. You will be notified when the quarantine has been lifted,"
