Alan and Sara journey deep into the woods in search for a place to stay until the time comes for them to come back to their home. They hear someone, possibly a hunter, firing their shotgun at something. But unfortunately for them, they get attacked by the creature and ends up getting wounded, but luckily makes it out alive, leaving his shotgun behind.
Sara: Alan...? I'm scared...
The two heard a growl again coming from the bushes.
Alan: Don't worry... Stay close to me.
Alan and Sara slowly walk. Some of the growling comes closer as the two continue their walk. They stopped and watch as a lion emerges from the bushes stalling them. The lion roared loudly at them and began to lunge at them, causing them to run away. After running for some time, they are saved by a mysterious figure whose head oddly enough is shaped like a pig.
???: Leave them alone!
The lion looks over at the pigman, who is holding raw meat in his hand. He throws the raw meat over to his left, causing the lion to lunge over there and eat the meat. The pigman walks over to the couple and picked up the shotgun.
???: You shouldn't have come here.
Alan looked up at him.
Alan: Who are you...?
???: Jones. Pigman Jones. What you're doing here is putting people's lives in danger.
Sara: S-Sir... We don't mean any harm...
Alan: Yeah. We're here because some pirate is trying to hunt down people like you and her. We couldn't go back because of the fight that is currently going on.
Pigman Jones crosses his arms.
Jones: You seek the village of my people.
Sara and Alan nod. Pigman Jones sighed and started walking.
Jones: Come with me.
The two follow Pigman Jones as he cuts the tall grass with his sword. Once they have made it out of the woods, they see a village up ahead, ruled by an elder. The three begin to approach the village. As they enter the village, the pigmen and pigwomen notice their presence and look over at them. The trio walk over to the elder's quarters and knock on his door.
Pigman Elder: You may enter.
The three enter the house to meet with the elder. Upon seeing two strangers in his house, the elder stands to his feet.
Pigman Elder: State your names. Both of you.
Sara slowly walked and bowed her head.
Sara: I-If you please... I am Sara... and I am just a vixen...
The elder looked at Alan.
Alan: I'm Alan, sir. Alan Cole. I am the only human here...
The elder looked over at Pigman Jones and tells him to state their purpose.
Pigman Elder: Why are they here?
Jones: It is not my intent to bring them here, but they have no place to go. Unfortunate times had cause them to come to the village to seek shelter.
The elder sat back down and looked around.
Pigman Elder: I have never seen people like you in my entire lifetime. Off you go. I will make my decision.
Alan and Sara step out of the house and look over at the villagers that have been glaring at them the entire time since they came in.
Alan: I've got a bad feeling about this...
Sara's POV: This is very uncomfortable. All I ever wanted is a quiet life with my boyfriend. But no, it was taken away from us by Maltravers... Now we're here being stared at by pigmen and pigwomen in an independent society... It's incredible how these creatures don't even know there are more like us. What could we possibly do here...?
Fast forward to night time, Alan sits in front of the campfire to warm his hands. The villagers gather around the campfire while Pigman Jones is out hunting for some food. Sara walks over to Alan and sat beside him.
Alan: Jones is out hunting. He'll be back here once he got what we needed.
Sara: We haven't had any food since this morning. We were ousted by that guy with an eyepatch.
Alan crosses his legs and looked at the pigmen villagers.
Alan: So, um... what do you guys do here?
Once at a time, the villagers tell Alan about their culture and how they operate differently from the humans. After the conversation, Pigman Jones returns with a dead deer, who he just shot earlier. Alan, Sara, and Jones gather the meat and cook it by the campfire. And as we sadly might have guessed, Jones brought back a shotgun and gave it to Alan. Now that Alan got what he needed, I'm sure he'll be able to come back home to go up against Maltravers. But nope, Alan had to go over to the tent and get some sleep. Seems kind of reasonable since it is around night time and that we know that they won't be able to get out alive in the dark because of the creatures that lurk within the woods. So, while you're pondering where Sara is of all places, she went inside the tent with him. Sara looked at him and touched his cheek.
Sara: Cold?
Alan nodded, wrapping a blanket around him.
Alan: I'm not used to the outside world, really. I'm a stay-at-home person who enjoys a bit of comfort.
Sara giggled and started to take her clothes off. She tossed her clothes beside her and hugged Alan, warming him up with her fur.
Sara: Here, let me keep you warm.
She slowly closed her eyes and sighed. Alan slowly slept, hugging her back.
