Many cycles passed and, sooner rather than later, the coronation of the eldest prince was announced.
The weeks leading up to it caused quite the stir among the nine realms.
All who knew celebrated his ventures and rejoiced his victories.
Well..all but one.
Loki was distraught.
You knew why.
He had told you countless times how he deserved to be King.
Ruler of Asgard!
The conversations with his brother became less and less frequent as they once were.
Part of you knew they wouldn't be able to talk alone if he tried.
Between the coronation and the King, not a single word was ever uttered.
He knew all too well would happen if he did...

You hummed a sovereign tune to yourself as you swept the balcony of his room.
Now, growing ever so closer to the winter months in Midgard, the wind felt brisk against your body.
It was as though it greeted you from its long summer's rest.

You watched the spindles and fibers dust back and forth.
You swept to the rhythm of your own music, enjoying the promising breeze.
The young prince, per usual, was reading in his quarters.
Most of the time, he read at his desk, but with the pleasantry of weather, he chose to read on his woolly golden sheets.
The doors to the outside were ever so slightly open in order to let in some air.
You weren't sure if he could hear your humming, but you chose to keep it down nonetheless.

"Mani!" A cheerful voice intrudes.

You nearly jump at the fright, but quickly recognize your own sister before you.

"O-oh, Sol..by the horns...!"

"Ah, my apologies.
I hadn't known you were among the clouds!" She exclaims, stepping down onto the balcony.

It appeared she had used the wind to her advantage as well, but you weren't disappointed to see her.
Although, not as much as you were frustrated.

"Your supposed to be on duty, sister.
The sun is up."

"The sun and moon can pull themselves!
Besides, didn't you hear the news?
All duties have been relieved until further notice."

Your jaw drops at the first mention of this.

"Oh, your teasing me, are you not?
Tricking me by giving an excuse?
I would've heard of such a thing!"

"I am not lying!
The Queen told me herself.
It's not my fault if your always up in that head of yours.."

You sigh, pausing to look at your sister.
For as long as you could remember, you had always known when Sol was hiding something.
Perhaps it was because of how long you knew her.
Maybe it was just a sibling thing or, possibly, exclusive to twins!

"Okay..on the notion that I choose to believe you, what would you be doing here of all places?
You have the day off!
You should be frolicking in the streets or-"

"What?
Am I not allowed to visit you?" She asks, addressing you in a childish tone.

"That is not a matter of relevance.
And I AM OLDER!"

"Only by a little~"

The two of you stare at each other with an aggressive gaze until you laugh hysterically.
You could never really stay mad at her for long.
Apparently, you must've been too noisy.

"Mani, what in Odin's name-" the young prince began.

He stopped in the door way; gazing at you.

"Oh, my apologies, your highness.
I was merely-" you turn around to address her, but she was nowhere in sight.

"..conversing."

"Ugh, I don't care what your doing!
Just keep it down!" He exclaims, turning and slamming the door behind him.
