Meeting the Ducks

"Tell me about my new kids." I heard coach Bombay say.

"That's Luis Mendoza, he from Miami. Real speedster, incredible skater. I timed him 1.9 seconds blue line to blue line." Luis started to show off.

"Good looking skater." I heard the girl from the ducks say.

"Very good looking, what do you think Guy?"

"Shut up Averman." The red head got shoved to the ground by the so called Guy.

"There's one minor problem..." Luis rammed into one other boards. I cringed a bit. That looked like it hurt.

"He has a little trouble stoping." I skated over to help him up following the others.

"I almost had it that time." When I saw he was ok I skated out to center ice again.

"Yee haw! How's everyone? Ya'll ready to play some puck?" I laughed a little excited to see what Dwayne could do.

"Hey look it hop along Gretzky." One of the ducks said. They all started laughing. I looked at them and scoffed and rolled my eyes.

"That's Dwayne Robertson. From Austin." I looked back over to Dwayne to see him showing off.

"He's the best puck handler I've ever seen."

"You mean for his age?"

"No I don't."

"Hey this is easier than roping hogs. Yee haw." I laughed again.

"He does have a tendency to show off.

"There's Julie 'the cat' Gaffney. She won the state championship for Main three years in a row."

"Well we have a goalie, Goldberg."

"Alright bring em' on man I'm ready for this come on show me what you got I'm the man, I'm the man." I shot a puck into the goal and Goldberg tried to save it, but got stuck in the splits. In the end the puck went in.

"Ooo uhhh help."

"Watch this." Some of the duck shot pucks in but Julie saved all of them.

"Isn't that the kid from the Olympics? The figure skater?"

"Yup, Ken Wu what can I say? I convinced him that hockey had more of a future. We put a stick in his hands. Nobody's been able to touch him."

Kenny started spinning really fast and distracted Goldberg so he could score. He then stopped spinning and put the puck in.

"That's Harley Ruby." I smiled and started to do my thing.

"She's never missed a goal in a game before. She uses these tricks to confuse the players and goalie it's quite fascinating. She's also really tough and hotheaded, so you gotta be careful. Even though she might be short and look innocent she could put you in a hospital."

Dean then started singing a song I didn't know the lyrics to coming over and knocking the ducks down. "That guys a teenager?"

"Uh yeah hormones." Mr. Tibbles shrugged.

"He's a goon."

"Come on Tex sing it with me." He said to Dwayne. Dwayne quickly shook his head no with a terrified look on his face. Dean shrugged and skated away throwing his stick to Julie and picking up Ken and putting him on the goal.

"Hey babe!" He said skating over to me.

"Hey lover boy." I smiled he smiled back and kept skating. But everyone started to huddle up and argue. I just looked over to Julie and we both gave each other that look.

Coach Bombay blew his whistle, "Everyone Freeze!" everyone quickly stopped bickering.

"Now, we didn't come here to fight!" Coach exclaim, "We came here to play hockey! We're Team U.S.A. you represent your country!"

"That's right!" Mr. Tibbles said.

"Now I want you-" coach started to say, but Mr. Tibbles interrupted him.

"To be all that you can be, right?." I giggled a bit at this.

I didn't here what Mr. Tibbles said, but I looked back up when coach started taking. "Don? Come on. You'll get them back at the end of the school term." Everyone laughed at this.

"Alright Ducks, show em what you got! Let's scrimmage!" Coach blew his whistle and we all lined up, Dwayne taking face off.

Dwayne and Jesse hit sticks and Dwayne knocked over Jesse taking Jesse by surprise. Dwayne passed it to Luis and Luis started to speed up running into Goldberg.

This time I took face off. I was in front of Guy and he smiled. "I'm Guy."

"I'm Harley nice to meet you." (lol Harley Quinn)

"Gonna take it easy on me?" He asked.

I smiled back, "I don't think so." I winked and he frowned a little puzzled. We hit our sticks and I knocked him down fast. I passed it to Dean which Adam quickly stole it from him.

The game kinda went on like this we would score and they would steal it at times and occasionally they would score.

After awhile Fulton got the puck and got ready to shoot. All the ducks were crouching down. I was so confused. "What are you guys doing." Suddenly I saw Fulton hit the puck, and it went flying. It was coming straight towards me when I felt myself get tackled to the ground.

"Uhg ow." I said, someone was on top of me, I saw who it was it was Dean.

"Sorry, I didn't want you to get hit." I blushed at the position we were in.

"It's ok, but could you get off me please?" I giggled a bit.

He quickly widened his eyes "Oh yeah, sorry." He got off me and helped me up. I looked over to Julie to see her smirking at me.

"Duck!" I heard someone say. I looked over to see Mr. Tibbles get hit in the head with the puck.

Hi I'm trying to get a lot of the old chapters published to start where I left off. If you got far in Goon you know about Heather. I will not be adding her in.
