Chapter 08: Avengers assemble!

Freya's POV
I stood there in shock at the destruction that had taken place around me.

Everything that just happened came flooding back into my mind.

Everyone fought and argued with each other....Clint attacks us.....Bruce Hulks out.....Loki escapes and kills Phil.....The jet gets halfway destroyed....We get Clint back.....Loki summons the Chitauri....we fight.....Hulk beats the hell out of Loki....Nat gets a hold of Loki's spear and we get the Doc to help us shut down the portal.....SHEILD fires a nuke at New York for plan B......Tony grabs the nuke and flies into the vortex to stop anymore Chitauri from coming in....

Tony....

Tony.....

'Tony?!'

I whirl around and start running. I run to the crumbling Stark towers and to the center of New York. I run to the spot where Steve, Thor, and Hulk have gathered around Tony who's lying on his back on the ground with his eyes close. I freeze and my legs start to buckle, but before I can fall on them Thor notices me and wraps me in his arms.

'It's happening again....first Phil now Tony....it's only a matter of time before everyone else dies as well and it's all your fault!' I burst into tears as the tiny voice inside my head goes off.

Thor gently hugs me while I start to sob into his chest. Steve bows his head in sadness and regret for what he said during their argument earlier, but Hulk let's out an angry yell and stomps his foot making Tony's eyes fly open as he gasps. Thor releases me from his embrace  and we look at Tony in surprise.

"What the hell?!" Tony asks panicked as he looks around "What just happened? Please tell me nobody kissed me" I laughed and ran over to him and fell on my knees and hugged him "Thank you!" I laughed as I continued to cry into Tony's shoulder. Steve chuckled and said "We won" while Tony awkwardly hugged me back "Oh! Yay...let's just- let's not come in tomorrow. Let's just take a day to -ow!" He yelped as I tried to help him sit up.

I flinched and yelled out "Sorry!" He waves me off "You're good Maleficent" I scoffed at the dumb nickname and shook my head before helping him up much slower this time.

Loki was now in custody.

There were countless casualties and injuries that were being dealt with while New York was slowly being rebuilt. It was agreed that Loki would return to Asgard with Thor to receive punishment. Fury also agreed that the Tesseract would be send to Asgard for safekeeping. Everyone met up at the central plaza to bid Thor farewell.

While they were distracted I walked over to Loki and stood in front of him with my arms crossed over my chest. I looked at the ground and said "You killed one of my teachers....Phil Coulson...." Loki stared at me unable to say anything with the muzzle on his face "You almost got Tony killed too. You know what I thought? That I was cursed. Cursed to have everyone around me die....it's horrible being alone like this."

I cleared my throat and looked up making eye contact with Loki. I swear I saw a guilty look in his eyes but I ignored it and said "Maybe that's why I wanted to talk to you....back in the carrier..... I wanted a friend" he seemed surprised by my words and I continued "I actually thought that we could be friends, because when we talked and put everything out in the open....it was just so easy and simple but it made me feel......happy and content like I could actually breathe.....that's something I haven't felt in a long time. Thank you for giving me a minute to breathe, but I now believe that it's impossible for us to be friends" I swallowed and turned to walk away.

I paused then turned around and said "Goodbye Loki" and I returned to Stephen's side. He didn't say anything about my departure to speak with Loki. I stared at the ground until Thor approached us and said "Lady Freya! I was wondering if you would like to see Asgard" I looked up at him in shock "Asgard...?" I asked in shock making Thor smile and nod "Yes....as long as it's okay with your master?" He looked at Stephen and I turned to him with a pleading look.

Stephen sighed and said "Alright, but have her back within a week" I let out a cheer and said "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Thor laughed at my excitement and grasped my hand dragged me to the center of the plaza. We stood across from Loki and grasped each side of the tesseract and Thor bellowed out "Heimdall! Open the Bifrost!"
