The ground?
Rock hard is the description
The sweat?
Never been colder
The race?
Almost unending
The struggle?
Real is the word
The 'give up' phrase?
Loud enough to produce an echo
I cannot claim I have seen it all
This may only be the beginning
Winning or losing
I still have to keep moving
The journey has to be completed
