➵THE SMELL of coffee and tobacco invaded my senses as the group of detectives and heroes escorted me into the building, my hands cuffed together in front of me. The cuffs weren't too tight, so I didn't complain at all. Once they brought me into the interrogation room, I felt suffocated. The room was small, and already had someone waiting for me.
The dog, yes, dog, stood from the table and held his hand out to shake mine. I was a bit taken aback by this, seeing as I had never seen someone with the head of a dog before. Even so, he spoke up. "Hello, (L/n). I am Tsuragamae Kenji, chief of the police force. I'll be the one asking you questions today," He introduced as I shook his hand. His grip was firm and confident, almost the exact opposite of my hesitant, weak one. "Could I get you anything before we start? Water, coffee, maybe a small snack?"
I nodded slowly. "Um, a water would be nice. . ." I spoke, my head hanging low as Aizawa push my wheelchair towards the table. They kept my cuffs on, but still required me to keep my hands on the table, which I understood.
After receiving my water, the others exited the room. Tsuragamae had started a recording before introducing he and myself, then reviewed over my rights. He looked at me then, and finally spoke to me. "So, (L/n), do you know why you're in here currently?"
I kept my gaze on the table, focusing on my water the best I could. "As far as I know, affiliation with villains and murder, sir," I answered, my voice weak yet polite. I could already feel the gaze of the other detectives from the other side of the mirror that was behind the chief.
Tsuragamae nodded to me. "That's right." He shifted in his seat, his elbows now resting on the table. "Now, from the information I've gotten from public news, you murdered your entire family then disappeared for six months, before reappearing in Japan with a group known as the League of Villains. Is that the case, (L/n)?"
"Not entirely, sir."
"What do you mean by that?"
"The second part of the story was true."
"And the first part?" His eyes bore into me, and I almost felt like prey to him, terrified for my life.
I let out a shakey breath I didn't even know I was holding, finally looking up at the male. "I was kidnapped by the League six months ago. They killed my entire family then framed it on me, all while I watched."
Tsuragamae shifted again, this time uncomfortably before glancing at the camera that faced him. "I see. Could you go into greater detail on that, then? How did they kill your parents, and why did they kidnap you?"
His questions were all fair and made sense, but they still made me anxious. "No, I cannot."
"And why can't you?"
"I don't remember any of it." It was a short answer, but it seemed to upset the chief. "All I remember is the leader of their group telling me of some deal he had with my father. My quirk has kept the rest from me, she holds most of my memories."
