➵THE PERSON that stood in the mirror looked odd to me. Even though it was my own reflection, I had grown so used to seeing myself in such an exhausted, slightly pathetic state that anything else felt wrong to me. I glanced down at the simple white shirt and red shorts, smoothing them out anxiously before Aizawa opened my cell door.
"You ready?" He questioned, holding the door as I passed him before taking a place next to him.
"As ready as I can be," I answered with a sigh, rubbing my right arm slightly. Anxiety flooded me the closer we got to the lobby. Every step made my ears ring, I felt like I was walking to my execution. The ravenette escorted me to the lobby, instructing me to breathe as we walked side by side. I hadn't been nervous like this in a long time, I almost didn't know how to act.
As we entered the lobby, my eyes instantly locked onto three people who stood with their backs towards us. Two blondes, and one burnette stood together murmuring amongst themselves. At the sound of the metal door locking behind us, they all turned their attention to us. At the sight of one of the members, my jaw practically dropped.
"Bakugou?" I asked immediately, looking between him and Aizawa in confusion. "You put me with Bakugou?"
The second blonde smiled sweetly, approaching me. It almost scared me how much Bakugou looked like his mother. "Oh, so you've met my son already," She noted, mostly to herself. "I'm sorry if he's caused you any trouble. I know he can be a little prick."
"You're one to talk," He snapped back instantly. She rammed her elbow into his side at his words, causing his breath to hitch in his throat.
Despite her actions, the older blonde continued to smile. "I'm Bakugou Mitsuki, but please feel free to use my first name," She insisted before motioning to the burnette who nervously stood by her side. "And this is my husband, Bakugou Matsuda."
I continued to sit in silent shock as I observed the family. I began to feel overwhelmed, my breathing picking up as silence lingered. Not this again. My vision blurred slightly as tears pricked in my eyes. My ears began ringing again, attempted to clear out the somehow deafening noises around me. I heard Aizawa asking if I was okay, but I couldn't focus. I did my best to regulate my breathing, holding my hand to my chest.
I noticed Bakugou snapping in front of my face, immediately catching my attention. "This is the part where you introduce yourself, dumbass," He snapped, his glare only softening slightly.
"R– Right," I stammered, thinking back to the breathing technique the blonde taught me. I wiped the tear that rolled down my cheek as my vision cleared. I hoped nobody noticed the action. "Sorry. I'm (L/n) (Y/n), it's nice to meet you both." The couple gave me a confused look, along with my sensei next to me, but none questioned my odd actions from seconds ago.
Matsuda offered me a warm smile, his wife doing the same. "The pleasures all ours, (Y/n)."
One of the guard's approached us with a box of my belongings, passing them to Aizawa. "All of you stuff is packed. If you're ready, we can set you up at the Bakugou's tonight," He explained, his expression tired as always. "I can take you myself." I could tell this proposal was only to comfort me. We both knew he didn't have to take me, nor was he mandated to. But he still wanted to accompany me.
