➵A LOUD EXPLOSION went off near me, and I instantly began to panic. Of all the people I could be set up with, it had to be the one with the explosion quirk. Of all the people who I had to try and convince, it was him. Just my luck.

Before I could even manage to stand up, I looked at the blonde, who noticed me right away. True to the hero course, he wasted no time by charging at me the minute he saw me. Just by seeing the look in his eyes, I could tell he was going to try and kill me the minute he reached me. Yup, I'm done for.

No. Get up. You at least have to try, don't let Kurogiri's decision be worth nothing.

I sighed, forcing my body to stand as the blonde continued to run towards me. Everything hurt right now, my vision was already blurred at the edges, but I had to at least try and reach for help. This is why I stayed alive these past few months, this slim chance that I had. And I wasn't planning to let it go that easily.

I could hear a few snaps in front of me, probably from the blonde who was not charging at me. I shook my head and quickly moved out of the way, reaching to grab the male's arm and throwing him on the ground. I pulled both of his arms behind his back the minute I could, holding my knee on his middle to keep him down. "Listen, I don't want to-"

"To hell with you!!" Before I could even finish, another explosion let off in front of me, and I was thrown back. What the hell. . .

It took me a minute to get back on my feet, but the minute I could I was knocked down again. This time, though, it wasn't the blonde. It was the same red head who was with him before. He had hit me right across the back of the head, and damn did it hurt. I looked back at him to see his skin was hard, and I assumed that was his quirk. My vision started to fade again. I was going to pass out.
Not yet. Keep fighting. It's not over yet.

I forced myself forward, charging towards the red head. I didn't have to do much, just get close enough so I could use my quirk. That didn't seem to be a problem, since my reflexes were faster than his. The next minute, I was behind him with my arm over his shoulder and my lips right next to his ear.

"Sleep."

He instantly fell to the ground, a small snore escaping his lips as I watched him. Mustering as much strength as I could, I moved him out of the way and to a more comfortable position, leaning against a nearby pole. I looked back at the blonde who seemed both shocked and confused as he watched the scene go down.

"Kirishima! Get up! What the fuck are you doing?" The blonde charged at me again. I was so tired. I don't want to do this anymore. I had one foot in the grave already, I should just let this hothead do whatever he wanted at this point.

Just as the thought crossed my mind to give up, I saw another group of villains approaching. They'll take advantage of the situation we're in right now. I can't let them get close, especially with the other knocked out. I ran past the blonde, he seemed so confused. I paid him no mind, though, as I went straight for the villains. They seemed a bit relieved to see me, probably assumed I had just fallen though one of Kurogiri's portals by accident. The minute I was close enough, I ran straight to one with brown hair. I got as close to her as I could then whispered.

"Kill them."

Without any hesitation, she instantly turned to her comrades, vines coming from the ground and stabbing through all three of them. After that, she looked at the scene before her in horror before turning her head towards me. "(Y/n), why would you-"

"Now kill yourself."

Once again, without any hesitation, the girl activated her quirk. Somehow, her entire body was ripped apart from some vines that seemed to be from within her body. Blood covered my body, but none of it seemed to be mine. Not yet, not until I spit out the blood pooling in my mouth. I tore my throat again, but it wasn't enough to stop be from speaking completely.

I turned around to find a few group, this time one it was the students. They all stood around the red head, trying to help him up. I made my way over to them, no longer able to hide my limp. "He'll wake up in a few minutes," I croaked, wiping the blood away from my lips. My vision was now black in the corners, and I could barely see. It looked like there were were five people now, including the two who I fought before.

"You-" The blonde spoke up, glaring at me. "I'll kill you!!"

"Bakugou!" A girl called, glaring at the blonde. She had short, purple-ish hair with a few marks on her face, probably make up. If I had more time, I probably would have admired her features a little more. "They saved us, and they're severely injured. We have to-"

A ringing set off in my ears. Nothing around me felt right as the adrenaline left my body. I finally felt all of the pain from these past few weeks fall onto me in one big wave, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't think I was about to die. My vision completely blacked out as I heard more yelling voices around me. I was so, so tired. I finally had to give up.

Can I finally let them just take me? Please? I don't wanna feel this anymore. I just want to sleep. . .

You can. You've done so well today, (Y/n). I'm proud of you. Rest as long as you want. I'll protect us from here.
