(not really and disclaimers to be made. enjoy!)
"Seen the news yet?" Yaku asked, walking behind Akaashi's chair and taking over his keyboard. He clicked to a new tab on his search bar.
"Double homicide in Otaru city last night?" Akaashi read the news article Yaku had pulled up for him.
"Mmhm" Yaku nodded. Akaashi sighed.
"Why does this have anything to do with me? Shouldn't you take this to investigation or something?" He took his keyboard back and went back to his work. Yaku picked it up and placed it in front of himself.
"Trust me, they already know, and they were planning on taking it to the chief who was then going to take it to you anyway. I'm just skipping a few steps," He clicked back onto the article, "and it has something to do with you because it's been connected to the Wara-Kai. Ya know, that mafia group you've been looking into for the past two months?" He scrolled down, giving Akaashi enough time to skim the article for information.
"Morning boys," a woman walked past Akaashi's desk.
"Good morning Misaki," the two men said in unison.
"Look, as exciting as this is, it's not in my department right now so I have to get some work done. So if you could just-" Akaashi got cut off.
"Excuse me, Akaashi, Chief wants to see you," a young woman peeked through a doorway near Akaashi's desk.
"See I told you Chief would wanna see you," Yaku bragged, walking back to his desk. Akaashi rolled his eyes at his friend and made his way to the chief's office. He stopped at the door, knocking and waiting for a response before entering.
"Akaashi, come in, sit, please," the chief gestured to a chair on the other side of his desk. Akaashi did as he was told, "I assume you've heard of the recent murders in Otaru city?"
"I've briefly read over it, yes,"
"Well, the murders have been connected to the Wara-Kai group. You've heard of them right?"
"Yes sir, you paired me with the investigative team to scope out their dealers," Akaashi reminded him.
"Thats right, I remember. Well anyway, this group has grown since we last discussed it, and is becoming more hostile and dangerous," he nodded, following along with what his boss was saying, "and the investigative team has come to the conclusion that what we need is someone to go and investigate from the inside," he paused, "we need a rat." Akaashi's eyes widened for a second before understanding what the chief was asking him to do.
"You want me to be a rat for a highly dangerous mafia?" He clarified.
"We know that you have dabbled in undercover work before and have been successful," he smiled, "so yes, we want you to be the rat. What do ya say?" Akaashi paused to think about his answer.
"Yes. Thank you sir," the chief laughed.
"I have a name, Akaashi," Akaashi chuckled.
"Thank you Daichi, sir,"
