Willow's POV:
I sat in Severus's chambers during my last break of the day before dinner in the Great Hall, and I could feel my head throbbing from a sudden headache after Moody's ghastly lesson on the Unforgivable curses. And as much as I tried not to think about it, a coldness came over me knowing that the Moody that stood in front of the class today was not the same Moody who I had knew once before. I might not be in Voldemorts secret circle yet but I knew this something apart of him trying to be reborn. And the only way I knew that was because of Severus.
As soon as the coldness took over me completely, the door opened and Severus walked inside. A weak smile coming to his face as he sat on the couch beside me.
"Did you hear about Moody and the Unforgivable Curses?" I questioned, trying to make conversation after moment of silence. Severus nodded but didn't utter a word. "When I sat in his class today I couldnt help but to think about how he doesnt seem to be the Moody I once knew. I mean dont get me wrong this is definitely something he would pull but in a classroom full of underage wizards and witches. And him being a Aruror above everything. It just doesnt make sense."
"Willow....." Severus drawled, earning me to look him fully in the face.
"What?" I questioned, my curiosity peaked.
"Dumbledore had received word from the Ministry today." Severus explained, not even looking me in the eye. "About your mother."
"What about her?" I almost wanted to laugh, but refrained.
"She has been arrested and was taken in for questioning suspicion of murder of a muggle." Severus added, "A muggle who has high rankings with American politics."
"So like a Senator, or lawyer or something." I asked, confused.
"More like Secretary of State." Severus explained. "But they aren't positive she did anything. There was a witness who gave a description that she fits."
"So it could really be anyone that has her hair color, build, height, skin color." I added, as Severus nodded. "Well I can't say it surprises me any. She always had a knack for getting herself into a pickle."
"There is something else." Severus said after a few minutes, which only picked my curiosity more. "Apparently, your mother has a blood curse that allows her to transform into an animal."
"Like a Maledictus, like Nagini?" I questioned. "But if that was the case wouldn't she have transformed permanently into the animal by now?"
"Not necessarily no." Severus shook his head. "Nagini didnt permanently turn into a snake until 1994 and she knew Grindelwald in 1927 so she was able to transform into a snake for the next 67 years before permanently being a snake."
"But that was only-"
"Last year-" Severus finished. "Maledictus is a curse that is carried from birth and passed down from mother to daughter."
"But I have never transformed into any kind of animal, so how-" I wondered. "Unless it just never showed......"
"Which is why Voldemort wants you in his ranks so bad, so he can use you." Severus added.
"Against Harry." I nodded, "Of course."
I put my hands on my head and sighed, trying to relax my nerves. "I never once seen her transform into an animal."
"She was just good at hiding it." Severus shrugged, trying to be helpful.
"So let me get this straight." I groaned, getting up from where I sat, "I am doomed to become an animal permanently for the rest of my life at some point."
