Bucky and I stood at the jetty as we said our goodbyes. "Doll, I have to go now" he said softly. Tears welled in my eyes as he pulled me in for one last kiss. I watched as he boarded the ship. "I'll wait for you" I said to myself.
Everyday I just thought one less day till Bucky comes home.
He never did, a couple months after he joined the army a letter was sent by Steve saying that Bucky had died. That day I felt as if my life had been taken away. I cried until I felt like I had no tears left.
I thought life couldn't get any worse. Oh I was so wrong. A general from the army told me that my brother had died on a mission. I felt like life wasn't worth the pain. However I kept going because that's what that's what they would've wanted me to do.
Everyday I cried, as if my tears could bring them back. It wouldn't bring them back, it had happened. Everything I loved was lost until one day a inventor named Howard Stark approached me.
