Maddie's POV
-3 Months Later
I continue to be amazed by the places life can take you when you have ambition and passion. Riley and I have moved into her father's condo in LA, that he never stays at anymore. He told Riley he would give it to us on one condition- if we follow our dreams. Her father, Al, is kind of a nut when it comes to following your dreams. He followed his dreams of becoming a record label owner and now he is a millionaire.
Riley is an amazing singer. It's ironic because her father is a record label owner. Her voice is beautiful. She just never had the courage to go after her dream of becoming one, but Los Angeles has given her this vibe that makes her want to chase them. I think she knows that doing anything else wouldn't make her happy.
I, on the other-hand, have no idea what my dream is. After the "thing", I became lost and I am trying my best to get back on track. I have always wanted to a bunch of things like photography, modeling, blogging, filming and even become a youtuber. I have always wanted to do them all. So, I decided to pick a few and see where it leads me. I am trying modeling, blogging, and I have continued writing. I am proud of myself. I have come far and so has Riley. She has been booking gigs at cafes and they really enjoy her. L.A has become our home.
Tonight, Riley and I have been invited to a new club, Club Fantasy. We were invited by some of our new found friends. People are a lot more friendlier here than in New York, that's for sure. I have this cool black sequin skirt and matching crop top to wear. Then I have some blue heels for that pop of color.
Our friends are supposed to be here at 10 and its 8 right now. I decide to jump in the bath and shave my legs and once I'm out I brush my teeth and curl my hair. I let Riley to my make up because she does an awesome smoky eye.
We are ready by 10 and we look bomb af. Riley is wearing a "little black dress", and some red heels. She left her hair naturally curly and here makeup is natural but her lipstick is poppin'. I smile because we can get cleaned up real nice :))))).
We arrive at the club and butterflies form in my stomach. I have never been to a club before and the new experience is exciting but a little nerve-racking. I'm a little nervous because I'm afraid our fake IDs might not work. I only have 2 years until I'm legal but why wait? I turn to look at Riley and she nods- a simple gesture telling me, "don't worry tonight is gonna be amazing." I had this feeling that felt eerily familiar like something bad is gonna happen. I ignored it and walked in. The are colored lights flashing and smoke in the air (from a smoke machine not other things ;) ). Music is blaring so loud that the beat traveled from my feet to my stomach. I liked it.
Before I know it, I'm hammered. I wanted to get rid of all the pain I am feeling- it worked. I am totally buzzed. I am on the dance floor dancing my booty off when that feeling returns. Like the calm before the storm. I turn around and there he is. He doesn't see me- if he did he didn't recognize me. I go to Riley and pull her out of the crowd.
"He's here. Oh my god, he is here. I'm gonna throw up." I say out of breath. She looks at me confused.
"Who is here?" She asks. Maybe she is too drunk to realize the "he" who ruined me in a matter of a week. I point towards the place he was standing but he isn't there. I look around but all I see is unfamiliar faces.
"Never mind." I say feeling crazy. I push past the people and go to the bathroom. When I open the door I am not surprised to find vomit all over the floor. I look at myself in the mirror and almost cry. Wow I look uglier than normal. I am going home it was a mistake to come here. I rush out of the gross bathroom and grab Riley's arm.
"What are you doing?" she asks whining.
"Leaving." I say monotone. Once we are outside we walk back to the condo, which takes forever. I tell Riley about "possibly seeing Luke," and how I don't think I am over him. Honestly, I don't think I will ever be over him. Which is why I cried my self to sleep that night.
Luke's POV
Can I not escape her? Every corner I turn there she is. Her perfect golden waves and porcelain skin. All I wanted was a fun night out with the guys and there she is dancing in the crowd. Then she disappears. I need to get out. I push through the drunk crowd towards the door but a strong hand grabs my arm.
"It was your idea to come here tonight and you're leaving? What's up?" Calum asks his eyebrows furrowing together.
"I know, I'm sorry man. I'm just..uh bored. This party is kind of lame." I reply making up a random excuse.
"Are you kidding its awesome! Maybe you just need some shots! C'mon!" He pulls me towards the bar and orders me a couple. I smile at my friend's kind gesture. I hope she hasn't seen me. She looked like a hot, wasted mess, maybe she didn't even realize who I was. I down the shots hoping to have as much fun as I possibly can. I haven't had fun since I ended things with Madison.
After about 10 minutes I realize that I am not having any fun. I sneak out of the party and get an uber. Once, I'm home I sigh while flipping on the lights. Michael is asleep on the couch watching some anime shit. I laugh as I walk into my room. I sit on the side of my bed and grab my phone. It may sound like a stupid thing to do but I just wanna hear her voice. I kept her number just in case of times like this. I am surprised when she answers.
"Mom?"
