"How long he is going to be like this?"

"He will wake up anytime soon."

"It's been two days."

Faint voices were falling on my ears. A pang of pain shot through my whole body when I tried to move myself. What happened to me? The bright light fell on my eyes, making me squeeze them. I rubbed my eyes few times.

"Water." I requested which grabbed Tony's attention. He poured water in a glass and gave me which I gulped down.

"How are you feeling, sir?"

"Like shit." I said annoyed because how could a person covered with bandages would be okay? And I don't even remember how I ended up here. "Now explain what happened because I swear I feel like I am suffering from amnesia right now."

"It was an accident sir. Tuesday morning after you left from the restaurant visit, you were on your way for next meeting when a car came from front and hit your car. Even though the man flew away from the incident place, the police found him and he is now under investigation." He explained and then everything started flashing in my mind. The car coming in my direction with high speed, the hit and that passerby lady whom I saw before closing my eyes.

"Where is that lady who rescued me?" I asked desperately. I was sure that the lady I saw before passing out was the one who took me to the hospital.

"Unfortunately the lady left before I got here." Tony said.

So she really did helped me. But why? When I begged people who came before, none of them stopped but this lady saved my life. She could have done the same as the people before her did, but she chose to help me. Why?

"I need you to find her and pay my gratitude personally." I said. No matter what her intentions were, she saved my life and I had to repay. Every act is like a debt to me. Good or bad, I must return it.

Inessa

Two days.

It's been only two days and I was already at the verge of bankruptcy.

I was aware that I needed to find new job soon or else I can picture myself dying on some dirty street, homeless and starved. I barely managed to pay last month rent and the money in my pocket could only afford some cheap instant noodles for few days.

It was late evening. I was hungry, the last meal I had was this morning. I opened the fridge hoping to find something. Food doesn't pop up out of nowhere Inessa. Stop checking fridge.

I sighed and was about to throw myself on couch when the doorbell rang. Who could be here at this time? Most people of this street doesn't leave their house because of high crime rates. Also I don't know anyone here.

I peeked through the small hole just to make sure it was not a thug or something like that. I must be cautious, sad thing is I learnt it in a hard way. Surely would not like to be in a similar situation again.

There stood a man in a black and white suit. I recognised him immediately. He was Mr Rossi's assistant. What was he doing here? I breathe in and opened the door to be greeted by him.

"Umm. Hello." I responded.

"Can I come in?" He asked. I thought for few seconds before nodding. He sat on the couch making himself comfortable. I was sitting opposite to him.

"Would you like anything?" I asked to appear polite even though I only had water to serve.

"No, thank you Miss Inessa. I am here to express Mr Rossi's gratitude."

"How is he doing?"

"Sir is recovering well. All thanks to you for helping him on time." I felt relieved after hearing that he was okay.

After few seconds he took out an envelope and kept it on the table. "May I ask what is this?"

"This is just a small token to express how much grateful Mr Rossi is." I picked up the envelope and opened it. Holy shit! 10 million dollars? I quickly put the cheque inside the envelope and gave it back.

"What's wrong? Is it not upto your expectation? You can tell me, Mr Rossi has ordered to give anything you want." Honestly I was taken back with everything happening right at the moment. I just took that man to the hospital. And he can say thank you and move on. And who the hell in their right mind offer 10 million?!

"I truly appreciate your kindness but I can't accept it. It's a very big amount. I do not need anything from Mr Rossi because what I did was out of humanity. Anyone in place would have done the same." I was aware about my condition yet my conscience was telling me it was not right to take this money.

"You can think about it Miss. Sir is ready to give anything you desire. Here is my number. Call me if you change your mind." He said giving me his buisness card. I took it immediately so that he could leave soon.

Once he was gone I locked the door and laid on the couch thinking whether I should eat the last packet of noodles or leave it for tomorrow. I need to find a job. It is difficult to find decent paying job when you are uneducated and have no skills. I sighed.

I knew sleep was not going to come anytime soon, so I picked up a book, even though I have read it countless times I still reread it simply because I don't have money to buy new ones.

The book fell on face. I did not realised when I zoned out. I looked at clock. It was past midnight means I was overthinking for almost 4 hour.
I closed the book and got up from the couch. I went inside bedroom praying God to let me sleep at least few hours before I wake up and start overthinking again.
