Josie POV

The dinner went on like any other family dinner would. Talking, laughing, bickering about irrelevant things. It was pretty fun, and nice. I'm also seeing an entire different side of Hope. She's actually laughing, and having a good time. I never realized how cute her laugh was. Anyways, Freya and I have been getting to know each other a bit.

Hope's family has even been telling us embarrasing stories of when she and Maya were kids. LIzzie is definitely gonna remeber those, and tease her later. I don't know why, but Hope hasn't told them yet. I thought that after she asked, she was gonna announce it, but she didn't. Honestly, I was getting myself ready for the entire thing. Whether it be messy, embarassing, or supportive.

I saw Maya nudging Hope, and trying to convince her of something. Though, Hope kept shaking her head. Maya whispered something in her ear, which made Hope look at her. Maya gave her a serious look, and Hope gave a pleading look. "Fine" Hope said, then grabbed her glass of wine, and drank it. The enitre thing. I look at Lizzie, already knowing what's about to go down.

"Ok, everyone. I have something to announce" Hope starts, and everyone turns their attention to her. "Well, on with it, love" Klaus says when Hope doesn't say anything. She kinda looks like she's in her own little world. Zoned out. She blinks a few times, then looks at us. "Josie is pregnant" she tells them. I saw them smile, then say something along the lines of "Congradulations" or "That's why you can't drink". I'd say they were really nice about it. Or at least nicer than my family will be. Well, nicer than my dad will be.

Though, they were all pretty much oblivious to the fact that it's Hope's. Except Kol. He looked between the two of us, and I could almost see the gears grinding in his head. I even saw his eyes light up when realization hit him. "Oh...my...god" he says lowly, kind of in shock. "Oh my god" he repeats, louder this time. He looks at Hope, asking if he's right without actually asking. Hope gives him a nod. "What are the two of you going on about?" Elijah asks. They all looked at him like he was crazy, but they were confused.

"Is there something we're missing?" Freya asks, lokking at me. Before I can answer, Kol basically yells "I'm gonna be an uncle again!", then jumps up and down like a child getting candy or some sort of sweets. He's definitely more exited than anyone else, because no else said anything, or even made a noise. "Does that make me an uncle too?" Nik asks. "It's...yours?" Rebekah asks. Davina slaps Kol's arm hard, trying to get him to stop jumping around. "Ow" he says, sitting down with a little pout.

"Mhm" Hope hums, answering Rebekah's question. Hope sits back in her chair, and lets her head fall back with her eyes closed. "Hope, are you on drugs?" Kol asks. "Yes" she answers. Everyone turned their heads to her, and something similar to "Drugs?!" or "What?!". "It-it's just a little bit of weed" she says, using her hand to show (🤏). Everyone looks at me, making me feel awfully small. "Is this true?" Hayley asks me. "Yes" I answer, very nervously, and it's very evident.

"I'm not calling you a liar, but how do you know?" Cami asks. "We went to Vincent" Hope tells her. "Hope...when was this?" Klaus asks. I don't know what it is, but something about him is just...scary. It's odd. "It was what? Like...3 weeks ago?" she kind of asks me. "Uh, yea" I say. "You found out 3 weeks ago, and didn't tell us?" Hayley asks. "I was waiting for the right time" Hope says. "Look, you know now, so what's the problem?" she asks, sitting up. "The problem is that you didn't tell us sooner" Freya says. "How far along are you, darling?" Rebekah asks. "5 ish months" I answer.

"Well, congrats to the both of you then" Cami says. "Yea, congradulations. Though, I am way to young to be a grandmother, I'm very happy for you guys" Hayley says. All of them seemed to have been really supportive, and exited. Most of them at least. I couldn't really read Klaus. He may have just been in shock though. The rest of dinner was filled with Kol making jokes, and Davina hitting him for it.

Hope POV

"Josie, can I talk to you for a moment?" I ask, standing up. She nods, following me into the kitchen.

Josie: "What's up?"

Hope: "Why does you sister keep making it seem like I'm not gonna be there when the baby is born?"

Josie: "Well, you didn't exactly say you were going to be"

Hope: "Why the hell wouldn't I?"

Josie: "*shrugs*"

Hope: "Of course I'm gonna be there, Jo. I'm not a monster"

After our little talk, we walk back into the living room with everyone else. The weed is wearing off, so I'm more aware of what's going on. I started getting really thirsty, so I went to get a glass of water.

Hayley: "Hey"

Hope: "Hey, mom"

Hayley: "How are you feeling?"

Hope: "I'm doing fine"

Hayley: "Are you sure? I know how hard it is to be having a baby at such a young age"

Hope: "Yea, I guess it is a little scary. I'd be more worried about her though"

Hayley: "She's lucky, you know?"

Hope: "How?"

Hayley: "Because she has you. Most young moms are left raising the baby alone, or end up getting rid of it all together because they have no support or help"

Hope: "..."

Hayley: "You said you're scared. What're you scared of?"

Hope: "I just...from what dad told me, Mikael was shitty. He really screwed him up. Dad was, and still is a great parent, as are you, but what if I'm not? What if I somehow fuck my kid up?"

Hayley: "..."

Hope: "I won't be able to live with myself if I do"

Hayley: "You won't"

Hope: "How do you know that?"

Hayley: "Because I know you. You're an extremely caring person, epecially to your family, and those who you concider family. You're very loving. Anyone can see that, and I'm sure you'd never hurt your child. You're gonna be an amazing parent, Hope. I guarantee that"

I look at my mom for a second before hugging her. She immediately hugs me back. I could feel the tears threatening to spill, but I don't let them. "I love you, mom" I tell her. "I love you too, Hope. Always and forever" she replies.
