Josie POV

"So what you're telling me is she still hasn't called?" Lizzie asks. I roll my eyes, nodding for the millionth time. "I don't know, maybe she doesn't want anything to do with me or the baby" I say. "Well, that's too bad. No offense, but I don't think you can raise a child on your own" she replies. "I'm very capable of many things. You'd be surprised by what I can do" I tell her.

She playfully rolls her eyes. We continue walking down the isle of my local grocery store. Lizzie has been staying with me the past couple of days, and she complains about how I have no food, so we're grocery shopping. She says she wants to help me out, and I tell her I'm fine, but she insists. I'm barely showing, and the hormones or cramps haven't started yet. Though, I am showing more than I was when I told them I was pregnant.

We were about to checkout when Lizzie tapped my shoulder, and pointed towards something. Curios, I turned my head to where she was pointing. There I see Hope. I recognize the girl she was with. I remember seeing her the morning after I'd showed up at her house drunk. I look away, not wanting to be rude and stare. "That was the girl she was with when we were at the restaurant" Lizzie says. "I think that's her roommate" I tell her.

She gives me a weird look, then says "How do you know that?". "It doesn't matter, Liz. Let's just go home" I respond, walking up to the cashier. She gives me a friendly smile, then starts ringing up our items.

~Time Skip~

We were walking out of the store, bags in hand, until I hear my name being called. I turn around and see Hope walking over to me, along with her friend. Well, it looks more like she's dragging Hope. "Josie, right?" the friend asks. "Uh, yea" I tell her. "I'm Maya, Hope's best friend. Nice to meet you" she says, holding her hand out. I awkwardly shake it. She turns to Lizzie, and says "Crazy white girl".

Hope pinches the bridge of her nose, seemingly in annoyance. "Ok, well we have to-" I start, but Maya cuts me off. "So, Josie. I was wondering if you'd like to join us for dinner" she says, small smile on her face. I look at Lizzie, then back at her. "Thank you for the invitation, but that'd mean my sister would be home alone" I answer. "Oh, don't worry. You can just bring her" she says. "May-" Hope starts, but Maya slaps her hand over her mouth. Literally.

I look at Lizzie again, and she just shrugs her shoulders. "Um, ok" I say. "Great. Come to Hope's at 7" she tells me, pulling Hope out of the store. I furrow my eye brows, and look at Lizzie. "This'll be fun" she says, walking out also. I sigh, then follow her. I can already feel something going wrong.

Hope POV

Maya and I get in my car, and I give her a death look. "What?" she asks, acting oblivious. "You know what" I say. "No, I don't. Do tell" she says, cheeky smile on her face. "You just invited her them to dinner, knowing my entire family will be there" I tell her, a bit pissed. "Look, it'll be fine" she says. "No, Maya, you don't get it. I haven't told my family that I got her pregnant. I wanted to wait for the right time" I explain.

"There's no better time than the present" she tells me, still smiling. I lay my head on the steering wheel, and groan. "I swear to god, I'm kicking you out if this goes bad" I tell her, kind of joking, but I think I might concider it. She lets out a laugh, but stops when she notices that I'm not joking.

"Y-you wouldn't do that to me, would you?" she asks. I shrug my shoulders, head still on the steering wheel. "Well, if you do, I'll just tell aunt Freya, and she'll make you let me back in" she tells me. I lift my head up, and sit back in my seat. I see Lizzie and Josie putting their groceries in their car. "I think I'm gonna need to be high for this" I tell her, driving off.
