Hope POV

After Josie left, I walk back into Maya and I's shared home. I heard music coming from Maya's room. She only does that on two occasions. Either she's in the shower, or she has someone over. I'm guessing it's the ladder.

I walk upstairs, to my room. I shut the door, then lift my mattress for my weed stash. I'm running out, so I make the most of what I have left. I have a few pre-rolled blunts, so I grab one out of the bag. I also grab my lighter, then light it. I take a long drag out of it.

I continue to smoke the blunt, later moving on to another one. Soon enough, Maya knocks on my door. At this point, I'm high out of my mind already. When I don't answer, she slowly opens the door. She has her eyes closed, as if I'd bring a girl home or something. I roll my eyes, then take another drag out of my second blunt.

She slowly removes her hand, and looks at me. She sighs when she sees the barely lit roach in my ashtray. I can literally feel the lecture she's about to give me. She tends to do that when I smoke to much to often. She gives me the "You already know what I'm about to say" look. I groan, then fall back flat on my bed.

"Maya, please don't" I plead. I still had the blunt in my hand, so I made sure not to light anything on fire or anything. "Don't "Maya, don't" me" she says through gritted teeth as she grabs the blunt out of my hand. "What the hell is wrong with you?" she asks. "Nothing's wrong" I tell her.

I can hear her speaking, but it all sounds inaudible as I'm staring up at the ceiling fan. The spinning is way to distracting for me to pay attention to her words. Once she notices I'm not listening, she snaps her fingers in front of my face. "Hey, are you even listening to me?" she asks. I lazily shake my head. "No, not really" I tell her.

She lets out annoyed sigh, then pinches the bridge of her nose. "Hope" she says. "Maya" I respond bluntly. "Is there something wrong? Because I know you wouldn't do this over nothing" she states. "You ever think maybe nothing's wrong, and I just wanna get high?" I ask. "No. You forget I'm your best friend, and we literally grew up together. Plus, every time you do this, something's wrong. If you don't wanna talk, fine, but don't lie about it" she says softly, while sitting next to me.

She's right. She's my best friend. She's been there for me my entire life. I'd be wrong not to tell her. "Remember Josie?" I ask. "The girl who slapped you? Vividly" she says. I roll my eyes. "Earlier she showed up and told me that she was pregnant. My initial thought was that she was like the other girls who come to me with the same bull shit, and lying. Either about being pregnant, or taking birth control when we were hooking up. I took her to Vincent, and he ran some tests. Turns out, she is pregnant, it's mine, and she was in fact on birth control. Which means she wasn't lying about anything" I tell her.

She sits there staring at me, likely trying to process everything I've just said. "And how do you feel about that?" she asks. Maya has always been like the therapist sister to me. Sure, she'll joke around and stuff, but she can be serious when she needs to be. I shrug my shoulders, not knowing how to feel. "I don't know. Most girls would be excited about getting pregnant by me, but Josie...I'm surprised she even told me" I respond. I finally sit up, and run my hands over my face.

I hear my lighter flick. I turn my hear, and Maya is taking a drag from the blunt I had. She hands it to me after a few hits. I do the same, and we finish the rest of the blunt. I tend to get the munchies when I'm high, so I have a stash of snacks too. "You son of a bitch. I was wondering where all the snacks went" she says when I pull them out. I let out a little laugh, remembering when she asked if I'd ate them.

Josie POV

I sat in my car, thinking. I know she just found out, but she never said if she was going to help raise the baby. I mean, I'd like it if she did. The child deserves to know both their parents. I could use the help too, though.

I sigh in content, knowing I've gotten the hardest part of everything out of the way. Actually, no. Telling Lizzie is definitely gonna be the hardest part. She's for sure gonna be pissed at me for getting pregnant by her "arch nemesis". Honestly, I wouldn't blame her. I can't help but feel like I've betrayed her somehow.

Anyways, Hope taking it so well gave a bit of confidence, so I decide to tell a couple other people too. I drive to my soon-to-be pissed twin sister's house.

~Time Skip~

I call her to make sure she's home.

Lizzie: "Hello, sister"

Jo: "Hi, Liz. Are you home?"

Lizzie: "Almost. I took a quick trip to the store. Why?"

Jo: "Because I'm on my way"

Lizzie: "Oh, ok. I'm sure MG will let you in"

We say our goodbye's and I hang up. I continue my drive, occasionally singing along with the song that's playing. It was only about 5 minutes until I arrived at her house. She'd just pulled up, and started getting out of her car. She had a few grocery bags in hand, and her purse over her shoulder. I followed her into the house, and greeted MG who was in the living room playing some video game.

"So, what're the groceries for?" I ask. "For dinner. You're free to stay, if you'd like" Lizzie responds. "Since when do you cook? Last time I witnessed that, you burnt our pancakes and we had to go to a restaurant" I say. "Uh, she isn't. I am" MG says. "I'll have you know, I cook just fine" Lizzie tells both of us. MG turns to me and mouths "No, she doesn't". I let out a little laugh.

I hang out with Lizzie while MG is in the kitchen cooking. I made the decision to wait until later to tell them. In all honesty, I'm just stalling.

"Dinner's done" MG yells to use about an hour later. We take our seats at the table, and MG brings our plates in. I thank him, then take a bite. My eyes widen in surprise. "Oh my god. MG, why didn't you tell me you could cook this good? I probably would've hired you as my own personal chief or something" I compliment him. "Well, thank you, Josie" he says with a happy smile on his face.

"So, what'd you want to speak about?" Lizzie asks after we finish our dinner. "Oh, I wanted to make an announcement" I reply. MG walks into the living room, then sits down. "Go on" Lizzie demands. "Ok, so I'm pregnant" I say, preparing for whatever she's about to say. "I KNEW IT" Lizzie yells. I give her a confused face.

"Well, I didn't know exactly what it was, but I knew something was up. I'm just surprised you moved on from Finch so fast. Speaking of, who's the dad? Is it bird boy? Because if it is, I'm obligated to-" she says, before I cut her off. "No, it wasn't Landon. I'm honestly hurt you'd think that" I tell her. "Don't mind her. Congrats, Jo" MG says, and gives me a hug.

I thank him for the second time today. He gives me a little smile, like he always does. "Ok, if it isn't Landon, then who is it?" Lizzie asks. "Hope" I mumble lowly. "I'm sorry, I didn't catch that" she says. "Hope" I say a little louder. MG's eyes widen, and his mouth forms an 'o'. "I'm gonna...I'm gonna go" he says, quickly running upstairs. "Like, the Hope I know? Or some other Hope?" she asks. "Uh, I only know one Hope" I quietly say. "Hope Mikaelson?" she asks again, trying to be sure.

I give her a nod. She licks her teeth, while slowly nodding her head. She simply says "Ok". "Ok?" I ask her, making sure I heard right. "Ok. I'm trying to be more supportive" she tells me. "Wait. I don't have to pretend to like her or anything, right?" she asks. I let out a little chuckle, then say "If she's gonna help raise the baby, then yes". "Does she not know?" Lizzie asks. "No, she does. She just didn't tell me if she was, so I don't know" I reply. "Well, she better. No one likes a "deadbeat dad". Plus, she did get you pregnant" Lizzie says.
